The tavern people aren’t pointless. It shows how the pointless wars between nobles affects normal people. They almost all were killed and the one that wasn’t was disenfranchised and disillusioned with the whole system.

The subplot of the "revellers", Falstaff's old companions, is my favourite bit. Laughed out loud at the king's disguise. : )

Thanks for the comments Daniel :) Henry's disguise was a bit silly wasn't it? But all good fun! I must confess that I used the trick again in the Merchant of Venice video as well, and I chuckled at myself then too. I watched another production after making this and must admit that I found myself enjoying the revelers more and more. And they do make some sense in light of the Henry IV's. Perhaps I'll be swayed;)

Can you tell me in what ways Henry V and Richard II are related. Why these two are seen as parts of the historical tetralogy of Shakespeare's collection. Is it because they all inspired from real history?

Ely (as in "the Bishop of Ely") is pronounced "Eel - ee" with the stress on the first syllable. It means Eel Island in old English.

One thing I will say is a very important detail to the story is that Henry ordered French prisoners of war to be killed, because the French went through one of the English camps and murdered all the women and children.
