In this video we take a look at Shakespeare's Town and Times by H. Snowden Ward and Catharine Weed Ward, the third edition, enlarged with four photogravure plates, published in 1905. The purpose of this book is to present "in plain words the tale of Shakespeare's life" and "to picture what remain to us of the scenes that Shakespeare saw." It contains a large number of historical photographs of places and things relating to Shakespeare and his life. A pen note on the first flyleaf says that this book was given as a Christmas gift in 1924. If you like this video, please leave a like or a comment and consider subscribing to the channel. Also, we are currently in the process of developing a Patreon page where we plan to provide our members with high quality scans of certain books in our collection. We're not sure yet when it will be up and running, but stay tuned!
