Keyboardist Sam Fribush is on the frontlines of the Hammond organ revival. His debut release, the SF Organ Trio, was produced by Charlie Hunter and recorded over quarantine in North Carolina. Fribush became a member of Hiss Golden Messenger in 2021. Currently based in Greensboro, NC, Fribush has brought his fonky, soulful vibe home to the town where he was born and raised.

Greg Humphreys is an American singer, guitarist and songwriter based in New York City who performs solo and as bandleader of Dillon Fence, Hobex and The Greg Humphreys Electric Trio.
Greg was born & raised in Winston-Salem, NC. His mother was an art teacher and his attorney father was a folk musician, spurring Greg's own artistic creativity from a very early age. In high school, Greg and his classmate, Chris Goode, formed a band called "Trash" that eventually evolved into Dillon Fence.
Donna the Buffalo is a band from Trumansburg, New York. It plays both original songs and cover versions. A musician friend suggested "Dawn of the Buffalo" as a name for the band, which was misheard as "Donna the Buffalo" and, over thirty years later, the band is still called "Donna the Buffalo". The followers of the group are called The Herd, a self-organized "tribe" of people who found each other at the group's live events.
Donna the Buffalo is one of the founding and host bands of the annual Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance, and of the Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival; and is among the headliners at The Great Blue Heron Music Festival in Sherman, NY.

A MUSIC LOVERS PARADISE The Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance is a biannual 4 day music & dance festival held the first weekend in May & October annually in Pittsboro, North Carolina. The festival takes place on a 75-acre venue which is managed by Shakori Hills Community Arts Center Inc. (SHCAC), a nonprofit organization. The festival supports the music and art programs of the SHCAC. It is associated with & modeled after the larger Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival that takes place near Trumansburg, New York each summer. The spring festival started in April 2003 & the fall festival was launched in 2004.

The festival typically lasts 4 days, beginning on Thursday afternoon & going through Sunday night. The venue has two large outdoor stages, one large covered dance tent, the Front Porch Stage for music workshops, a Cabaret Tent, & The Outpost, specifically programmed with teenagers in mind. Primitive, vehicle, & RV camping is available.
In addition to music, the festival has music & dance workshops, a sustainability fair, kids activities, and food and craft vending with local food trucks and artisans. The family-friendly festival is free for children 12 & under & offers a special youth rate for 13-15-year-olds.
Attendance is stronger on Saturday, Friday, & Sunday with Thursday being known as a "locals" night. Early Camping begins on the Saturday before the music starts.
