Ironically without the unemployed the Centrelink workers wouldn’t have a job so they would be unemployed and then where would they go ?

They'd have to wait on the phone to themselves for 2 hours on Tuesday mornings.

They would be given a job at a recycling yard and treated like slave labour.

Im 52 worked all my life and got made redundant. When I applied for c link i was scrutinised like you wouldn’t believe. My argument was “ive worked my arseoff for 35+ years i think i should be entitled to a payment.

I saw this and I had to reply, your completely on the ball, a family friend of mine got redundant and all he wanted was a little bit of help for the time he was off work, so he goes to centerlink and they pretty much told him to “f**k off” in a nice way. Same situation has worked and paid his taxes all his life. Centrelink is there to assist in times of hardship or struggle not to sit on the system. Pretty sad really.

"Australian Stereotype"? No, this is the typical crack head stereotype, if you want an Aussie Stereotype, go look at all the people that are civil servants, police officers, doctors, nurses, firemen, farmers.
