Good luck man. Cast straight out into the current, let your bait sink to the bottom, and reel only fast enough to keep the bait off the bottom and your line tight. Let the current swing the bait. At least when the water is under 50. Hope that helps!

Brings back memories. Wife and I use to camp out on Alreds Islands on Guntersville years ago during the crappie spawn and would cook fresh crappie every evening after we fished. The same island that we camped on is gone due to the comerants killing all the pines and the erosion finally took our island. There is something about eating fresh caught fish out of hot grease from a cast iron skillet outdoors. It even tastes better then when you fry them at home. Same with frying bacon over a camp fire. Nothing like it. Great job and I bet those channels were awesome. Just the right size.
