I took my own advise and went out with J hooks the other day. Got into a mess of little ones and had a ball. They kept me so busy I had trouble drinking a beer. Definitely more drama than circle hooks. Sit down, jump up, left pole, right pole, tip the beer have to slam it down on the beach without spilling it and jump to the rod. swing and a miss, swing and a hit. I am telling ya, it would make a good video.

Sounds like a damn good thanksgiving. I ditched the stand. It's way more stable burying it into the ground. I bought a butane burner though, so it shouldn't be an issue where ever I want to cook. Got a little meat in the freezer. Gonna try and kill a deer this winter even. You do the same!
