Nice work Aaron, I have been avoiding hitting these shallower bay spots since the main target turns out to usually be mangrove snapper that should be 'heading to the reef to spawn', during these later summer months. Your recent videos have been making me question what thr books will tell ya that shallow closer to shore waters are better in the winter and deeper water further out are better in the summer. There are no fences in the ocean I guess, the florida keys are a unique fishery.

As someone who is slowly introducing spearfishing to my 9 year old son, the shallow dives definitely feel more accessible for us. It’s something he and I watch together and talk through doing the things you are doing. The deeper stuff is fun too, of course, and I have done some dives like that, but it actually loses his interest faster because we really don’t talk through the process as much. All of the videos still get my views, either way 🙃

Never overlook any coral head. I found one that I had never seen before. Only one bug who had an escape hatch. Got away. Stuck my head in & the top was loaded. Got my nieces from our boat nearby who were sightseeing a line of heads. I’d tickle one lobster at a time while the kids were snorkeling above as look outs. As the lobsters shot out the exit holes the girls acted like bird dogs following & pointing them out until I could come around. Got 14 big ones in 8’ of water. Never found that coral head again.
