Wonderful true talk Rab! 20 years ago started to read about history of Jewish people and felt a deep connection and personal identification , and Judaism the treasure my psique and soul yearned. Since then it’s been a non stop learning journey and joining together with Am Israel that had shaped my identity to its core and I’m eternally thankful for that. I agree that being Jewish is a mind set and a way of experiencing the world and being part of a loving caring family in which we nurture and strengthen each other. Am Israel Chai 💖 🇮🇱 🙏🏻

So far Rabbi Golub I love those videos (1 and 2) 'cause you talk about (for me) the real and meaningful essence of Judaism, as I see it and as I follow it (me, who I am not a Jew, but expect to be one). In the first video, the most remarkable aspect was Shabbat and how all things and teachings and values of the whole Torah are lived in the rest of G-d. In this video, the second, you tell us that Judaism is not about beliefs but more important, about behavior. And there it is where Mitzvot and its backgrounds and forwards enter in stage. G-d continue to bless your labor Rabbi Golub. B''H

Many folks, including myself, are finding that we have Jewish genes in us and thus are descendants of Abraham as Genesis 22:17 tells us that there will be as many descendants as stars in the heavens, as the sand on the seashore. We tend to forget that Israel is not just the descendants of Judah, but also the ten tribes. It's sad that people want to argue what a Jew is when only God knows for sure. What is sadder is that even Jews want to argue what a real Jew is, so they can bash Israel, although Israel is promised to us forever.
@josephbel8 жыл бұрын
Jewish genes? That is a new one! So if being Jewish means you are a descendant of Abraham as you say , how is it that one is considered Jewish ONLY if mother is Jewish?
@MrWisdomseekr8 жыл бұрын
You are correct, man's laws or rules say that "one is considered Jewish ONLY if (the) mother is Jewish." Yet, 1) Not all of Abraham's descendants are Jewish, because he has descendants through Ishmael.. 2) There are also the descendants of Abraham through Isaac. Those "genes" are in us and have nothing to do with the woman. Those are the NATURAL laws. Thus, the Bible rings true. There are as many descendants of Abraham as there is sand on the beach and stars in the sky. It's also like this. Many Christians say, "the Jews killed Jesus." How? Only two of the twelve tribes were in Judah when Christ was crucified. So are people saying the ten lost tribes were/are not Jewish? I think the judging of Jews should be left to God. And we who have Jewish genes, have them, regardless of man's laws.
@MrWisdomseekr8 жыл бұрын
josephbel I want to make one thing clear. I never said I was Jewish. I said I have Jewish genes as do my uncle and son. I too, go by the definition of the mother.
@josephbel8 жыл бұрын
The notion that "One can become Jewish ONLY if the mother is Jewish" doesn't hold either! Because you can become Jewish via conversion. When you talk about "Genes", you are referring in a diplomatic way to a "Bloodline". There are no "Jewish Genes", I believe you used that expression for lack of a better term, but it is nonetheless very misleading. When talking about genes, you are talking about family bloodline, being one of the descendant of the "Children of Israel". As you already mentioned, only a minority of the Children of Israel were of the Jewish faith. And speaking of family bloodline, since Ishmael and Isaac were brothers, the Arabs have those "Genes" you spoke of, making all the Arabs Jewish if we follow that logic. The opposite is true, all biblical B'nai Israel lived in Arabia and spoke the local dialect. If someone has what you call Jewish genes, then that would make that person an Israelite NOT a Jewish. One is Jewish if one believes in Judaism, and I say that because in order to convert to Judaism, one has to perform certain faith based rituals under the observation of a Rabbi.

Thanks for the second introductory vlok. So to summarise, Judaism is not a religion it is a set of values. And being a Jew doesn't mean a religious person or has anything to do with religion but it means they are members of the Jewish family and community. Jewish people doesn't feel they need to convert anyone because they do not believe there is a reward from God if they do so.

A follower of Jesus/Eashoa/Yeshua CANNOT become a member of the Jewish family that Rabbi Golub describes so why does he say that they can...something that is not true? His definition, " to be Jewish is to be a member of a family" can be used to define THOUSANDS of other non-Jewish groups.

God told us this answer in, Romans 2: 2:28-29. "For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; 29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God". Jew, is not just a race as mankind is led to believe by the teaching ways of the world that Satan is the Governor of, as God stated to us in this teaching. You can be a Russian, Japanese and follow God and be a Jew. For it is about following God aka being in Gods small flock.... not race alone. The collection of obeying God of many races under the umbrella term of Jew/small flock.

I think it is easier to answer the question, What is not a Jew? Or, Who is not a Jew? For example, Job suffered much as God allowed the devil to torment Job. How much greater suffering can there be than to grow up in darkness, without the light of Torah? But though they who grow up in darkness suffer much, Job had something that they do not have, which is His Word, the light of Torah to comfort him. They are not Jews then who desire not The Light. The Word of God is Truth. Truth is a light - by hearing, one sees. Umm, so the Lubabovitch (sp?) Rebbe, was most likely a Jew. Pretending? Unlikely - who does that? Judas Iscariot? .. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJ6VgamkgpyJmtU

I have Jewish parents but never had any of the religious background delusions or teachings. The closest I have come to the practices of Judaism is going to the funerals. Regardless of an individual belief, in an all powerful omnipotent deity, the fact remains that I am Jewish by birth. Having family gassed by the Nazis and a direct family tree, that can trace my ancestry back to 13th century Spain tells me that I am Jewish. I can definitely state that I am Jewish. I can also state that I am not secular, as all religions fail when they fragment and divide humanity. A whole person accepts that life is a journey and that what I knew yesterday will not be what I know tomorrow, but what i am is always present.

Your sermon, teaching, is not logically coherent. You begin by saying that you are not going to ask the question, Who is a Jew? But then you proceed to give examples of who you say are Jews - essentially answering that question. And if persons who listen to this sermon begin with "these are jews" before proceeding to answer the question, What is a Jew?, will they not get the wrong answer? For perhaps not all of the persons in your example are Jews. Maybe none of them are. God did not choose a people, but they whom He chooses are the people. As it is written, The Lord knows who are His. That said, labels are always dangerous. For who gets to put that label on others? .. Joseph Goebbels : We will decide who is, and is not, a Jew. New Meme ? : "That's what Hitler said."
@georgemay81706 жыл бұрын
This is why Paul, a Jewish scholar, stated that a "Jew" is one who is "circumcised in the heart," because of the knowledge that Jesus Christ is God Incarnate who has fulfilled all that has been proclaimed by the Law and the prophets. The non-assimulating ones who call themselves Jews are lying because they do not believe in the Incarnate Jesus Christ. There is no "hope" in thinking our behavior is will be accepted by God. Christ alone is our righteousness.
