Ms Hausdorff. presents opinion as fact and in this interview was not challenged on any of her claims . The claim that under the International Law of Uti Possidetis Juris and the British withdrawal from then Palestine the new state of Israel had a right to control all of Palestine is not correct. Israel has used the argument of Uti Possidetis Juris many times maintain that it has a right to all of the land area of what was Palestine. International Law can be applied in some circumstances but not in all circumstances. In Israel's case the 1949 Armistice border was defined as the Israeli border. This border served as Israelis border until 1967 and the Six -Day War. It is the border that is internationally recognised. While Ms Hausdorff. is correct that Israel is not carrying out genocide she does however overlook the fact of the suffering being caused by Israel in Gaza Israel has cut off the water supply to Gaza ,this is not in dispute. The fact that The United States of America and The United Kingdom are having to airlift food into Gaza is proof of a humanitarian catastrophe. To blame Hamas for blowing up water pipes is pure nonsense. The claim that the UN are allies of a terrorist organisation is beneath contempt. She also took the opportunity to attack the BBC, the British Foreign Office,Lord Cameron and the ICRC. So, in her world all of these organisations are at fault but not Israel. Ms Hausdorff. also refers to the marches every weekend in the United Kingdom that call for a ceasefire in Gaza as "Pro Hamas hate marches" this is also not the case. While the organisers of these marches have called for a ceasefire and the release of all hostages they are now being attacked as pro Hamas antisemitic individuals . "There are none so blind as those who will not see"

Both parties made valid points vis-a-vis their respective positions, Ms Hausdorff rightly calling out the BBC for lack of objectivity in reporting on Israel. Again, I have to call out Ms Hausdorff for exaggeration. Words have meanings, and lawyers are, first and foremost, language communicators. Many decades ago, when attending my first lecture at law school, freshers were instructed on the importance of language in law practice. If we didn't get that right, our careers would be short-lived.
