Salt is not bad for you. Look it up. At the worst it does nothing to your health, at the best, populations with high amounts of salt in their diet have shown slightly longer life expectancy. So please stop perpetuating the rumor that salt/sodium is bad for you. It's ruining good food. Thanks.

I find these hilarious, a name brand restaurant "quality" that tastes and looks nasty, yet you can go to Aldi's and get their's and it's actually good. It comes in a box, the sauce comes in 3 packets, the chicken comes in a packet, and the veggies are separate so everything gets cooked right, then put together.

Pei Wei employee of one year (to the date) here (was once owned by Chang's). I can guarantee that our chicken and steak, in restaurant, is genuine; we cut and marinate both almost daily. Chicken comes in breasts where we cut the fat off and the scraps become ground chicken for the Lettuce Wrap (mixed with mushrooms and water chestnuts) and Dan Dan, while the steak fat is just thrown out (a shame, but we deep fry or steam--don't order Steamed Steak or I'll staple you to the doghouse for three days, so in those cases the fat is a detriment more than an aid). Crispy Chicken is usually overbattered, though, so unless you're fine with the batter, don't choose the Honey, Sweet and Sour, Orange, and Thai Dynamite. Shrimp's frozen before it gets to us about half the time and all we do is separate it into 3oz helpings. If you find a store that still makes Crispy Shrimp, you're in for a good time and should definitely order one of the four aforementioned entrees. I'll also contest that the vegetables you've had in the meals are far below even my standards (I'd never serve broccoli without florets) and I'm pretty damn lazy. We cut, dice, and prepare every day--not all of our food is same day prepped, but next day worst-case, still considered fresh until their typically short lives expire. These meals are a disgrace to even Americanized Chinese and make our food look like it came from Asgard, riden by the Valkaries, prepared to take you to godhood. Yes, these frozen meals are that bad. 7.49 can net you a small entree before 4pm/1600, while 9+ gets you a regular size entree that certainly tastes closer to the price. I let you, the people, as well as Larry here, know that *thankfully* not everything out of Chang's ass was a mistake, but these meals certainly are.

I would recommend the innovasian honey chicken. It’s actually really good and they provide 3 different cooking methods on the back. Microwave, pan fry, and oven. The oven is the only way to go. I cooked mine for the 24 minutes specified and any piece that wasn’t crisp to my liking just threw in the air fryer for a minute or two. I’d imagine you could cook them in the air fryer in the first place. Tasted better than most Chinese spots around me lol

Trader Joe's has a version of this that is INCREDIBLE. And exactly as recommended to PF Chang's, the instructions have you bake the breaded chicken on a sheet, and then add the sauce to the crispy chicken. If I got this, I would have probably disregarded the instructions to cover while cooking. You seriously need to learn the frying pan flip. No spatula necessary.

There's a fantastic little Chinese restaurant called "Kowloon" near my house run by a really sweet old chinese couple and one of my favorite dishes is their honey chicken, (I usually eat it with fried rice). They're pretty good friends with my grandmother cause they've known each other for decades. Edit- Watched a little further ahead and wow, 7 dollars for that? That's enough for a plate of honey chicken, fried rice and some kind of appetizer/soup at Kowloon. Though I think the husband is dying due to heart troubles and my grandmother seems to be slowly drifting into dementia so there's that part of it I guess.
