I love these exercises so much! It has been a great, low pressure way to paint every day! (as someone who is completely new and was feeling overwhelmed) Getting a journal and doing daily, small exercises has been so much fun and is helping me build confidence and practice so many techniques. Haha. It does seem like a lot but… my preferred journals have 48 pages. If you use front and back. So that’s only 2 journals, plus the one I’m finishing now. I will definitely make some room in the bookshelf for them. 😁

Thank you for the Video, it is really helpful to learn how you go about changing or accepting things you did not like so much, I'll definitely have a go at the little calming landscape. The sketchbook I am using at the moment has a huge ring binder, so I can fold the unused pages to the back and only have one on top. I admit having only one single painting up side down in it would bug me. But a journal where there are lots of paintings upside down or on their side does not bother me. Soon I will to do that as well since the new sketchbook I got for Christmas is bound the same way as yours is.

What would you anticipate if you glazed the red with a blue. Would you get a more purple tone or does glazing not affect color that much?

You definitely could glaze that red with a blue and you would get a more purplish tone. Depending on the blue you used I would anticipate ot would be a more desaturated purple with a brown tone to it.

Neutral tint is just a grey color that is neutral in tone. Neither warm or cool.

Shana I know you know a lot about Qors and I have a question. I have 2 Qor tubes and they flow and dance beautifully. I waited for the QOR Urban min watercolor pans on Amazon to drop in price and grabbed it when it did. I am so confused. the paints in the pans do not flow ATALL. I mean they are like your usual watercolour but nothing like Qors usual unbridled dance. Have you heard of anyone having this same experience. So confused.

Hhmmm? I’m not familiar with most of the colors in that palette. I do have van dyke brown and I do notice it doesn’t have as much movement as some of my other colors. My best guess is that the pigments used to create these colors are heavier and I think some of them are granulating which can limit their ability to move as freely across the page. I haven’t heard anything specific about this palette. I hope you come to find a happy place with them as you get to know these new colors. 😁

@@shanacirce aah yes agree! that makes sense. Also Sometimes pan vs tube formulation can affect how the pigments react, maybe. Using it as pleim air so that’s perfect and that’s how it was meant to be used I suppose
