Inspiration! I'm going to try the flowers next. I've been practicing leaves and tree branches. As i said in another post, I'm a beginner to watercolor painting. I started my journal with painting blades of grass lol....so afraid of messing up my beautiful journal. Thank you for being here. Creativity adds to the quality of ones life. 😊❤

Very interesting video. As a newbie, I find myself wanting extreme closeups to see how the granulation behaved, how the colour moved when you added darker denser pigment at the base of the rosebuds. Find your connection of technique and outcome very helpful!

Thank you for showing your early sketchbooks! Painting such flowers with one of your older videos was actually one of the first times I followed along with any painting KZbin video. Now I did them in my sketchbook and dug out the old ones for comparison too. So interesting to see how different these are. Thank you Shana for the inspiration! And the beautiful flowers 🌺!

Shana, This was the perfect video for me today and your reminders about ‘the journey ‘ have been very helpful. I have been researching different brands of water colour journals and although I do have several different pads of 100% cotton water colour paper, I still would like to begin an actual journal . I would welcome viewers comments of favourite journals that you all have enjoyed using for water colour 😊 🤩💕

@@shanacirce I have been thinking about stapling together some of the papers that I enjoy using instead of buying an actual journal book. There are some good sales on at the moment here in the U.K. on quite a few of the top quality paper brands….like Saunders Waterford and Arches, etc. ( actually have not yet used Arches ), and especially if you get the larger sized sheets and then cut them down…it really does work out very reasonable. Shana…..was there some sort of auto typing gremlin in your reply ? 🤭🤪 because I am not sure what you meant ? 🤪🤗🤗🧐🧐🧐💕💕💕

Regarding messing up your Journal “years ago, when I was teaching my children, we would all get our journals and our art supplies whether we were going to be doing charcoal, pencil or charcoal, colored or watercolor. For the day, we had our own bag of goodies and we would go on, a art excursion/picnic. It was my middle child who said to me but I don’t want a mistake and I didn’t remember to bring any eraser. And I said you will never need an eraser because as an artist, there are no mistakes… Everything you do is a learning process And you cannot tear out any pages either. Sometimes we get frustrated and sometimes things don’t turn out the way we got wood, but we can always go back and look at that page and see what we would do to change our drawing. I said, artist tend to be the worst critic, and I want this to be a fun project, but also a learning project to this day their art journals are one of my precious items in my home❣️❣️❣️
