Shane Battier is lowkey legendary! I miss seeing my Rockets with TMac, Yao, Battier, Skip, Luther Head, Mutumbo, chuck, etc! That Rockets team would’ve won the ship if we were healthy. We took lakers 7 without any of our best players being healthy lol.

The Kobe and Battier battles, mainly the Lakers vs Rockets matchups were always classic to watch! I still remember Kobes classic line "You can't guard me!"

In the OP on the Rockets T-mac, Ming, Artest... Artest shouted to his team that he would cover Kobe. Kobe was then standing at the free-throw line. He said something like "I knew you were crazy, but that you had also become a comedian I didn't know." I don't remember the exact words, but something like that. Laekrs won the series and then the champion. There is this video on YT. Somewhere...

@@a_s_g_z Lmao he avg 28.8 on battier alone and if u know basketball then u know that to average 28 u have to score more than 28 a lot of times because you will have games that u score less than 28 now with that being said some notable games where he ABSOLUTELY cooked Shane because we don’t even have to talk about him slaughtering Bowen and Patterson no matter what they tried mostly in PLAYOFF games btw; 56, 53, 53, 45, 45, 45 and a PLETHORA of 25+ point games and that’s just on Battier.

@patitoduck123 This kid is is prolly one of those that think Kobe is overrated because of videos like this but can’t seem to stay away from watching and commenting on how much Kobe “ball hogged” “shot poor percentages” which he said numerous times he never gave a fuck about fg% as long as he makes the shots thats needed to win and got 5 rings with that mentality. It’s sad Kobe haters really can’t face facts because when it comes down to it they’re mad he’s greater than their king because of mentality not stats.

What amazes me is that some players would compete offensively with Kobe. Others were defensive pests with him. A much more exclusive group would go beyond the physical aspect of the game looking for an answer to an unsolvable problem. Kobe always came on top. Do you know how hard it is to be elite in that many levels? Sh*t blows my mind. Bean was physically gifted, intelligent, confident, methodic and hard working. Truly one of a kind.

Shooting percentages is on thing that Kobe don't care at all. As Long as he wins and win titles that's what only counts for him. He knows he's not as athletic as Mike, He knows he got an inferior anatomy than him as well. But he maximized what he got .

Lebron will never be in Kobe class , ever dummy today that says Lebron is better forget that Lebron had to be mentored by Battier and Ray Allen to get that toughness, Kobe had it in High School and joined the most elite Basketball franchise that back then were run by Greats like Jerry West , while at the Cavs , Lebron froze in lots of playoff games and never showed that Killer Instinct like Kobe , he had to be thought by Pat Riley and Battier the way to win , Kobe developed it on his own , drove everyone with obsession at early 20s, just different Animal, Stats don’t mean anything, The key pressure moments are what matters in sports!!!!
