Always thought Shane was sort of a odd guy on the show, but seeing him in this video changes that. Seems like a guy that puts his heart into it, and also builds a car that is reachable for everyday people like myself. I can’t afford a $20,000 motor and a $5500 supercharger kit, but I can afford my little N/A 306 setup
@crazylarryjr10 ай бұрын
This car brings back memories, A friend of my dads had a Vega and within a month of buying it they had put a V8 into it, possibly one of the first V8 conversions around (there were no V8 conversions at that time). The engine according to my dad was a home made 302, which was a 327 small journal block and a 283 crank. Everything else was ZZ302 parts (cam intake ect) out of the GM Performance catalog. It was backed with a powerglide and a stock rear end, and was supposedly undefeated in Lenawee county Michigan

Shane was always my favorite 405 guy next to Shawn. I had a Vega back in the day so when the show came out I was a big fan of his Black Vega. I remember the first time he wrecked, and came back with a better Vega. It was a sad day when he wrecked the second time. Never forget how he said I’m done boys, I don’t have the money to build another car. Shane and Kamikaze Chris was always the underdogs. I always pull for an underdog. Shane’s second black Vega was a bad car. If he didn’t wreck I believe he would have went to the top of the list. That car just seemed to hook when others was fighting the road. Not sure if you guys ever film anything street car show for the 405, but Shane should bring this little red Vega. I lover the show where you guys drove the cars to the race spot. When Dominator had the yellow small tire 33 Dodge coupe with the Hemi. These are cars we can relate too. That was my favorite 405 show in the 10yrs the show was on. These was true street cars. To watch that yellow 33 Dodge line up next to a 55 Chevy was the race of the whole show for me. That’s the street racing I remember from high school in the 1980’s. Bring that type of show back. 🇺🇸🦅🏁 Great to see Shane again. It’s cool to see him in a Vega again..

Soo, I just bought a factory orange 1975 Vega panel wagon. It's been back halved, and going to get a 4.8 with an 88mm on e85, Holley Terminator system running it. Just got a Jeff Miller Power Glide and PTC converter, and heading to PA to Glory Days Fiberglass to pick up the one piece front end and a 4" cowl hood Thursday. Then it will be on to Chris Cline Race Cars for the assembly! Can't wait, going to run a 33x15x15 slick!

Awesome video!! It's really good to see Shane!! I really enjoy listening to y'all talk about the good old days!! His Vega brings back some good memories for me! I had a 72 Vega with a 327 with a tunnel ram 2 Holley 750 double pumpers, a nice solid lift cam, a full manual valve body TH-350 & a 9" Ford rearend. I had a lot of fun streetracing it back in the mid to late 80's. The headers for those cars are a pain especially if you don't have a remote oil filter!! They are fun little cars!!

Was him in the finals of Cash Days against the Bird Brothers and how he got the Blackbird slowed enough to get turned and in the trailer and gone! Never did like the Bird brother's bitching about splitting and thinking they won, the video is still out there, Shane saw the call off and did the smart move!

Then he would have Chevy bolt pattern 5x4.75” and they have a crap ton of rim selection for his Vega. Great job guys on the install of mustang dyno
