Racism in USA is fake. I was born in 1980 in a small Arizona town! I’m Puerto Rican so I shoulda felt that shit my whole childhood. But nope, everyone of our heroes in the 90s and 80s (outside of Larry Bird) was a black or Hispanic guy. “I wanna be like MIKE” was the song we grew up on. We loved Jordan, Bo Jackson, Mr T, Julio Caesar Chavez, Mike Tyson and then Deion Sanders. All our favorite music was “black.” Tired of the lies news and schools have pushed.

My mom was literally called the n word while working at Kmart in the 90s, my dad grew up in the south and there were still stores in the in the in the late '90s to early 2000s that had no colored allowed signs because they knew no one would do anything about it like I'm glad you never experienced any of that, but your personal experience doesn't erase years of history and millions of other people's experiences. It's definitely better than it used to be but come on man😂

Hollywood and the news media love accusing innocent people of being racists. "Remember the Titans" got sued for it. The filmmakers invented the racist things said and done by an opposing high school coach -- and then the actual coach sued because from context, it was possible to identify him. The world would think he was a racist cretin. IRL the man never said or did anything the film portrayed; the filmmakers made it all up, all of it. And though the film avoided his real name, they had to settle out of court. There was none of the racist crap shown in the film when the two schools merged. The controversy was the newly created mega-school destroyed Virginia high school football competitiveness. On the other hand, Denzel is good in everything.

A trip or two outside the US has taught me how big racism isn’t in the US. The effects of poverty are greater. The effects of family life are greater. The effects of where you were born are greater. Racism is a worldwide issue, but we’ve come so very far in this country, on the shoulders of incredible men and women. We have so much to be grateful for.

its actually a phenomenon I've noticed as a political scientist. the acceptance of a group in society coincides with their appearance in media such as sports, music and entertainment. and the reception is far better than going through legal means. George lopez has done more for Mexicans in the cultural consciousness than even figures like Cesar Chavez. its very interesting.

1) racism isn’t exactly “big” in the US compared to like every other country 2) same with economics though. Countries and people get along together more and integrate more as the economy and quality of life improves. Then when some discrimination goes on it starts to fall apart again. Like the white males who aren’t getting a fair shake today because they are white males and every major company is incentivized to hire more and promote more non-white males.
