why do people ALWAYS just assume just because some of us singers cover a Carpenters song we are automatically dissed to compare to the great lady KC herself. why cant people just accept maybe a singer is just performing a 'cover' version, meaning a cover version. Be it own style vocally, different directions with notes, etc... and I personally am fed up with people saying ' No one can ever replace Karen Carpenter'? Who is trying to replace her?? Did we ever say this?? So please people STOP saying these pointless comments like that. Orig this song was by Anne Murray, ?? So would KC be dissed to not sound just like Anne Murray, or be dissed that no one can replace Anne Murray?? We all sing as we sing, if elements are similar , great what a huge compliment to any singer, of course no one will ever sound exactly KC? KC was KC? I get this all the time and its really starting to gripe me, and I felt like sticking up for the lady here, who quite frankly has an amazing voice in her own right, and hasnt even mentioned shes TRYING to sound like KC or trying to replace her. Yes I do a tribute show, and wear a look of KC in my show but its just theater!! I also sing Carpenters in a mixed covers set at a gig. Yet people get so offended when you cover a KC song? We can get slated! ‘No one sounds like Karen, only one KC, you can still hear its not KC?’ Stuff like that. Lol. Errr yeh its because Im not actual Karen, go figure. 🤣 I find it hard at times to not reply or be polite. Crazy world!! Everyones an expert out there 🤣🤣 appreciate your reply. Meanwhile wish people would just be kind. Lol.

But concentrate on those who do appreciate your art and make this for them. I know your feeling... I was a singer when I was a boy. My father a quitarist and i would have contracts for a few dollars to sing "serenatas" at night by the windows. It was fun but sometimes people would shout at us to go away¡ Just a humble commentary.
