Thx for the video :) Today I practiced pumping while riding tandem with my 3 year old on the board. After this it sort of clicked for me and I drastically improved my pumping. I guess because I was able to test balancing while also having the need to pump more efficiently to get moving.

All your videos are super helpful!! It is funny because I just got a surfskate and The One just made me feel what you talk about here, while coordinating compression and extension with rotation body weight shifts almost automatically, I feel. I am pushing it to get a good feel from it just before I loose balance, but this video confirms what I felt on my session today. Thanks!

I get the go "off balance" bit ... but was the second advice to move weight from front to back foot? When I analyse the vid you seem to start with weight in front foot, crouch, move weight to back foot while crouching, THEN standup WHILE moving weight to front foot. So a triangle shape in anti clockwise direction ***** OH WAIT!! I just read the text a bottom of vid. Seem my description is about right. Great vid!!

This is exactly what I am doing lateral movement. Like moving in the S shape. I tried your last tips which was shifting my hip from front to back. Somehow i didn't get it right. Everytime I shift my weight my board stop or I will be throw out. It will be nice if you are able to refer a video of your tutorial specific on this. Oh I'm using cruiser broader with waterborne adapter without rail adapter. Is the adapter possible to recoil / tension ? It will be nice if you explain that I should loosen or tighten the bolt.

Jay
@shanelai25153 жыл бұрын
Salut Jay. La distance ça depends de l'empatement des roues. Plus gros empatement requière plus de distance entres les obstacles et vice versa. Pour débuter, choisissez une distance où vous etes a l'aise, puis diminuez petit a petit J'espère que ça aide

What difference does it make if the front truck is more forward or with some distance from the front end of the board? Personally I find the boards where the wheels are at the very front more wobbly, but is that true?

I think that I compress and push into the ground well on the frontside turn, but I struggle on the backside turn without doing lateral movement. Any tips on strengthening the backside turn without lateral movement? When I pump in an incline, the force from the frontside turn is not enough, so I end up digging into my front leg and doing a hard lateral move to add strength to the backside turn.

Thank you for a great tutorial! One question/observation. In your case (goofy) the decompression always happens for the left “turn” only and never for the right... Any reason for that?
@shanelai25153 жыл бұрын
this is a frontside pumping. I do have other videos where I explain backside pumping; where compression is frontside and decompression is backside

Could you please share a link to that video?

Hi, I am big fan of what you doing. I really want to start surfskate but in UK is hard to buy good quality surfskate. All is out of stock. Did you try “slide” company boards. If yes, what is your opinion about it?
@franciso12733 жыл бұрын
I can recommend slide, i have used both slide and carver and prefer the slide, its cheaper too

Hi, thanks for all your videos :). This is very helpful for a beginner like me ! I have a question about the weight and the balance: when you pump, which foot has the most weight ? Because I think I put too much weight on my back foot and my pump doesn't be really a smooth motion. I hope you will understand what I mean ^^'
@shanelai25153 жыл бұрын
salut Margaux! the body weight constantly shift from front foot ( as you compress) to back foot ( as you decompress)
