I mean, not much else to say that hasn’t been said already. This song hits hard and that last picture of the older man kissing his wife on the head brought tears. Whenever my fiancé and I actually get enough money to afford a wedding, pretty sure we found our first dance song. So good.

What a great song of love as a commitment to the long haul, with “burdens deep…” as we carry out vows we made for better or for worse. Divorce is just too damn easy in this country and the photos, home movies with the simple but profound words of this song sing to a deeper, more durable picture of love than our present world gives us. Of course, the Lord is the ultimate picture of this reality as “he is able to keep that which we’ve committed unto him against that day” (Philippians 1:6).

Thank you for this beautiful song. I played it for my grandfather while he was passing away. He loved Johnny Cash and talking about the lord above. I know he heard it and loved this song, so did my family. We played it also at his funeral. He was a Vietnam us army veteran who fought very hard. This song helped him go peacefully ❤ @shanesmithmusic

We are gifted only a vapor, yet there’s so much inside of it and so many braided together…. You could see bits of Shane in the faces of some of these couples and wow, how blessed he is to know he’s made up of bits and pieces of so many hearts that chose to bind themselves to one another in love, love that weathered life together from the most beautiful parts down to the most painful and challenging. It ain’t even my family and I’M getting choked up over here! They’ve given you a beautiful legacy, Shane. I pray my husband and I leave something as beautiful for our children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thank you for sharing pieces of that legacy in your music.
