Old maglev technology which is fast but not comfortable. I took it few years ago. It is bumpy like RT rail. I prefer harmony bullet train which is fast and comfortable, I remember my bottle water surface barely shaked. The new high temperature superconductivity maglev train which just rolled out last month will replace this line.

There are displays with the speed over the doors between carriages. The video should have shown the top speed displayed there.
@Polymathically Жыл бұрын
I wanted to. Unfortunately, I was sitting in the seat with the door directly behind me, and with two other people sitting next to me, blocking my view. The only way I could have gotten that display would've been to stand up while the train is moving, turn around without falling over or bumping into anyone, and awkwardly lean over the other people. Also, I only had a short range DSLR camera lens equipped at the time, so I couldn't have gotten a clear shot of the display on the opposite end of the car without standing up and getting closer. Therefore, I decided to focus on the outside view. You can see the speed display on the other maglev video I posted.

You can't use the perspective of objects from unknown distance to judge speed. Even a landing plane which usually runs at 250+ kmph seems slow if you look at an object around 30m away. Even me riding my motorcycle at 40 kmph feels faster.

@Polymathically2 жыл бұрын
Yup, roughly one month before outbreak. The closest I got to Wuhan was Hangzhou, which is about 470 miles away. I was looking through my photos back then, and realized how crowded and unmasked cities like Beijing and Shanghai were. It's no wonder it spread so fast. Oddly enough, I nearly canceled the trip because I had some kind of premonition. But I decided to take a chance and go for it. That ended up being the last international trip I'd take for the foreseeable future. I also sailed on the Ruby Princess to Alaska in August 2019. When I was chatting with some of the crew, they told me that it was the last trip the ship would take up north, and that it would be repositioned in the South Pacific afterwards. It ended up being responsible for spreading Covid to Australia.
