Hi! I use Railway12306 app to buy the bullet train tickets. If you are referring to the shanghai metro, then it’s Alipay app :)

Hi! To set up Alipay, download Alipay app, tap "sign up" to register, remember to choose international version, select the country you are from, fill in your identity information for verification. After verification is confirmed (usually within 24 hours), add in your foreign bank card (visa/master card) and it's done. Remember to activate credit card for overseas use. Then to pay in China, the merchant will scan your "PAY" code on Alipay or you can scan their QR code :) To travel around in Shanghai, we usually use the metro, cabs or didi (car-riding app). Most of the tourist attractions are close to metros :)

Hi! Have you enabled your Alipay for payment? If yes, go to Alipay app, change the location to shanghai, click on transport tab, and you just need to scan this QR “shanghai bus code” whenever you take the metro or bus, it will deduct directly from Alipay 🤗

Hi! I live here so I have a China phone number. If you have tied your e wallet or credit card to zhifubao before your trip to China using your home country phone number for verification, you don’t need a china number for payment to go through at the stores. I hope I understood your question correctly? 😀
