If more battle shonen anime took note of anime like Shangri-La Frontier that actually managed to make multiepisode fights engaging, then battle shonens wouldn't be memed as much as they are.

I'm convinced this show could do a 10-episode fight and have it feel meaningful and not dragged out. This is what battle shonens wish they could be. See my full uncut live reaction to the episode over on Patreon www.patreon.com/BrandonReviews

This Boss-fight is really one of the best fights in anime. It's really a long fight but worth every single second.

More importantly, and i could be wrong about this (did´nt actually check it yet), the 10 minute fighting phases roughly add up to the real watch time. Unlike in other shows where 3 to 10 seconds are stretched out to whole episodes

Dafq where did you get that? Not everything is onepiece , it's a common code for samurais in japan that it's shameful to have a wound in the back because it signifies cowardice it means at some point your running away or a sign of your skill being low level that you take a wound at the back

@@minnelcandelario6893 “wounds on the back are a swordsman’s shame” is a quote that basically everyone remembers from that fight in particular. The sentiment is common enough, but the exact phrasing was used here. Also, I mean, Weathermon is using one big sword and Sunraku has 3 “swords” now with the beetle helmet.

@minnelcandelario6893 why are you getting upset when an anime references another anime that happens to be One Piece reference?
@minnelcandelario6893
@minnelcandelario6893 8 ай бұрын
@@famimame not really getting upset just find it weird when you watched many anime already but still think everything cam from onepiece or worse dragonball, for one if you do some research(although your not really required to) you will know that most of this animes are referencing something from old culture or literature be it from japan or western. Again I'm not upset I just felt iffy when something obviously wrong is being stated like it's a fact it's like saying kinton is a reference from dragon ball even though it's most likely referenced from journey to the west.

"If 'scars on the back are a swordsman's greatest shame', then sorry... I'm about to deal you a whole lot of shame." (starts cackling like a madman) Then his teammates start panning him cackling like a madman... then come to the realization that if he's cackling like a madman, he's still alive. Been awhile since I laughed at a whole segment like that.

I just love how this fight reminds me so much of an actual video game. I played so many games over the years and the ones with the best systems have memorable bosses like this one. Weathermon is such a last boss that even his attacks I can see being in a soul-type boss. The AOE lighting attack, the Mist hand that you can only avoid by going behind the boss, the horizontal/vertical slashes that you'd have to wither jump over or dodge left or right. And to top it off on his last transformation he goes haywire with the attacks and spams shit left and right! Whoever made this, is a true and tested gamer and knows the mechanics inside and out

The episode really did feel like 5 minutes its was 🔥 . It's interesting how they boss seems to have 2 special conditions that are needed for it from the last couple of episodes. The frist 2 are time trials to basically kill the power sorce timer if the cyborg side of it while trying to save all of your options for the hidden part of phase 3. Then you have yo know its an undead type to even get access to it or suffer the insta K.O full field aoe from what pencilgon said. So you need the holy water after the armor is cracking for it to be used which (i am just guessing here) the undead borg is basically releasing a heat blast that has been builing up from the first 20 minutes from the power sorce and the holy water is needed to stop it effectively starting the last time trial by not letting it be used starting the time trial for the disintegration phase. Which i can only guess is a weakned phase do to the horse having a new combo form for battle armor support? Now they say damage can be done but is the time trial 10 minutes again or can you do damage to make it go by faster. The last thing i noticed is when the boss recognized the pendent and mentioned that this was the seond plan he called the frontier. What was plan A? Also it feels like he went full tryhard after seeing the pendant starting chaining all of his insta K.O moves from how he had been going wich sunrock having a full pattern recognition on his move set to now having a bordline unparryable move unless he uses o think it was called lucky strike kn the hilt ofnthe sword again like he did in phase 2

Wow, wow, wow... This fight just continues to get better with each episode 🤯 Sunraku parrying Wethermon's attack with his helmet was so impressive 😳 I feel like I watched a 6 min episode but it wasn't! This fight will remain on my memories as one of the best I've ever seen 😌😎

With all that happened this episode, I need it. I NEED IT, I NEED A SHANGRILA FRONTIER FIGHTING GAME. we may not be at that level of Vr but a fighting game where you can even fight or fight as wethermon, I just need it. Needless to say I can’t wait for next week but I say this. If we don’t get a game where we can experience all this as sunraku or as our own character, that would be the biggest missed opportunity in gaming history imo

I dont remember fight against single enemy this long and this intense more or less without pauses and with SO interesting characters. This feels like the most impossible Boss we ever saw and the neclace that threw Wethermon into this berserk mode GODLY. Glad there are some good shows during the week otherwise this would be worst torture technique and that 1 week break at the start of the January really feels worth it now.

Every episode of Sanraku vs. Wezaemon reminds me of a different game. This time, it reminds of so many games, sekiro, ghost of tsushima and niohn with stance fihghting style. Sanraku's new helmet looked kinda cool, and his laughing felt like he had turned into some kind of Pyscho. It seems like Wezaemon got stronger after seeing the Necklace. The last attack from Wezaemon was totally a blast🔥, and Sanraku almost defeted, but I think he will use some kind of trump card in the next episode.

I already knew I was going to love this show even before it came out, and I knew nothing about it. This episode just keeps showing why I don’t regret watching this at all. I was so upset when the episode ended. Sunraku was definitely make sure he caught those hands. I definitely can’t wait until next Sunday.

I was rooting for Sunraku the whole way, I kept yelling, “Keep dodging! Oh my god! Gooooo!” I could legitimately feel that he was giving it his all. If they failed here, then it would feel like all of their resources went to waste. They would have to set up all of that prep work all over again, and heaven knows how long that would take. As a gamer, we can respect their grind a ton.

At this point in my anime quest, I tend to skip through a lot of fights, because I am there for the story. I meant to on this episode. Impossible. I watched for a few seconds to see what I might miss. Then I watch a couple of minutes. Then, the episode was over, and I regret nothing. This was epic and damn near perfect. I'm only interested in the outcome, and hopeful explanation, of this one-of-a-kind "scenario," and the ramifications afterwards. Still, that INCLUDES this boss fight. Also, that helmet crushing attack was maddness!!! I want 6 seasons of this show, so I can sit and binge it all years after it's over, like i will do with Mushoku Tensei!!!

Glad it wouldn’t be considered an exaggeration that this is one of the best looking and best choreographed fights of the year. A long battle with so many changes and evolutions and how the game lore fits into it. All the recaps help make it even better. They definitely cooked with these last several episodes. And Sunraku’s mentality of how taking down the boss is what would make this even better is good to have. If it’s a truly god tier game, you should try to win against the boss against all odds

8:20 Honesty, I feel these stakes REAL very real. Coming at this from a perspective of the Holy Mommy Asuna sect of the Orthodox Isekai Church of SAO, these games would no longer be "just a game." This fixtional technology ALLOWS the characters to live a whole other life in a world of outlandish and fantastical powers and lands. That tech does trick their minds to accept, even if only temporarily, that, "This goofy ass person with a black trenchcoat and a harem IS me. I am living this life, and I understand how much I can lose." Like you said about the sports teams - hope crushed is a very real, and ephemeral, loss. I mean, if you hit the DP button but get a Coke, that could ruin your whole damn day! In these other worlds, they have invested life: minutes, hours, days, intentions, passion, stress, effort, patience, discomfort, for that person to survive and prosper. Life, to me, in actuality, has no price that could truly cover the costs of losing it. The only separation is the abilty to switch back to biological life take a leak and whatnot, and the blessing of respawning, in most cases, so the finality of loss is not so all-encompassing. Damn. This was supposed to be like 3 lines ling. (ーωー)
