"Kid get destroyed by own attack , not impressed", whoever saying that get your brain check, what shank do is literally see the future in advance, than in an instant, proceed to anticipate and plan everything to not just defeat kid but also caught his whole crew off guard (tell broki to get ready attack in advance), and utilise his speed, awareness (rope), intelligent (he knows when to rely on crew, and when the situation requires him to step in quickly himself), to cover as much distance in short amount of time so he can not only reach kid, but also leverage on kid attack to backfire on him and his whole crew instantly(their crew can hardly defense from Brody because cannon ball gets destroy due to backfire from kid attack), so as to not only defeat kid and his own crew, but also ensure the casualties to his ally is as minimum as possible, in a way that is as efficient and effective according to the situation.

I don't know what was in Kid's mind. he barely did any damage to big mom. His part on big mom's defeat was only to hold her in place, while Law was the one who did most of the damage. Just because his bounty is equal to Luffy then he thought he could 1v1 with a yonkou like Luffy. Even Luffy was knocked out so many times by Kaido until he managed to unlock gear 5th. He also didn't think how his crew would survive a clash with Red Hair Pirates. While Shank's main crew has the power quite close to their captain, Kid's crew except for Killer probably only Grandline level of threats
