To those saying "Javale needs to chill", it ain't like Shaq done made a couple of jokes at Javale's expense. He made Javale the primary joke of his entire show, and throws dirt on Javale's name on almost a weekly basis. Javale came to the Warriors, worked hard to transform his game and become a good player, he living out his childhood dreams and providing for his family playing ball. Now that he has really developed his game he takes pride in his name and his game, Shaq throws dirt on it on a weekly basis and the man had enough. It ain't like Shaq made one joke or does it now and then, he does it all the time and won't give Javale credit so Javale said f this man I'm standing up for my name. If you were in his shoes you'd wanna do the same, not many people have the balls to stand up to a guy like Shaq so I respect Javale for what he did. Then Shaq threatens violence on the man it just shows that Shaq been a bully his whole life, and if he can't intimidate someone verbally with his loud personality he tries to bully them physically. Bullies aren't bulletproof Javale gotta get some shooters to pull up lol

jbougsville 1. The show isn't about Javale McGee, It's about everyone in the NBA who does something stupid 2. Golden State should be ashamed of themselves asking for Shaq to be fired. They should not even be complaining 3. Javale McGee better improve if he's on the best team in the NBA. That was basically a gimmie. That is like u put a player like Andre Roberson on the Spurs and he gets good at passing.

At the expense of McGee and his family. It is easy to laugh and say it isn't serious when its not you being targeted for 5 years. It's one thing when he's the target of jokes here and there. But he is the target 90% of the time, and this year, it's purely based off of old content. Can you imagine if someone made a 2 minute video of Shaq's flaws and put it on national TV... and then put it on again the following weeks? If you place yourself in McGee's shoes and be truly honest with yourself, you could 100% understand what he is feeling and why its so upsetting. It's simple empathy.

People need to stop with this "oh it's just jokes, get a sense of humor". JaVale has made some ridiculous plays, and Shaq rightly made fun of them, but now JaVale is doing fine in GS, and Shaq is digging up highlights from years ago (which he already made fun of), and just picking on the guy. People who ruthlessly mock and pick on people for no other reason than to feel better about themselves like Shaq really lack any capacity for empathy. I actually feel bad for people like Shaq and his sycophants, who are so insecure that they need to pick on people who just want to live their lives. I'm glad JaVale stood up for himself, because Shaq is nothing but an insecure bully, and Shaq just Shaqtin a Fool'd himself.

Why does everyone think Shaq plans and puts these things together himself. TNT producers tell him what to do, and he does it. No, that would be assault. Shaq's been a clown his whole career and TNT pays him to keep on doing that. Producers pick the clips, producers write the scripts, and Shaq plays the part he's meant to play. If you want a clown to stop clowning on you, stop playing like a clown.
@hurrythepeace94438 жыл бұрын
I understand Javale would be upset. Shaq should not have been as harsh. Javale honestly is underrated. But Javale has to own it. He needs to let it fire him to come back strong.

@FREE_WILL_DEFENDER8 жыл бұрын
Hurry the feet its not that its harsh its that its been goin on for 4 years
@urmenior8 жыл бұрын
He did own it. But Shaq's been showing the same clips over and over. Not just that last tape. but just a few weeks ago he put up a turnover which wasn't a Shaqtin' moment at all, but he compared it to Javale's famous stumbling half court pass to prove that the new clip still resembled it somehow. Even Kenny didn't like it. People actually want to see Javale on Shaq's show. TNT must have encouraged Shaq for the ratings. And it would be still funny to see him if he kept doing the same mistakes, because it's how it started: His Shaqtin' moments came naturally. Now Shaq is forcing it. I don't think Javale would have fired back if Shaq didn't bully him. In fact, Javale is an intelligent guy, he took a shot at him when he intentionally went to inbound the opponent's ball a couple months ago. He doesn't lack sense of humor. But Shaq is making a fool out of him, and it sticks to him. It's like Harden, I see a lot of teenagers still getting to know about Harden from popular Shaqtin' moments, they think he still sleeps on defense. But Harden is a superstar and it doesn't ruin his reputation as much. If you're a center, especially in today's small ball game, it is not easy to prove those lowlights wrong because you don't dominate the ball even if you're one of the best big guys in the league (which Javale is obviously not). Shaq even called Tim Duncan *Mr. dumbdamental*, can you believe it? Tim scored over ten thousand points from his banking shots, he misses one at the end of his career and he's dumbdamental? And it's ironic Shaq couldn't hit one single banking shot from midrange. More than half of his missed shots were easily Shaqtin' moments, because he missed layups or terribly bricked it one step out of the paint. I saw Shaq's last tape on Javale and facepalmed before I even knew about Javale's reaction. That wasn't funny at all.

I'm proud of you guys for saying what some other media members would never touch with that type of transparency. Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman treated this topic in a very ignorant manner and it was unfortunate to watch. Demeaning and bullying is never acceptable, especially since Shaq missed 3 dunks in one game and he never presented that alongside Mcgee's errors. I respect your show for your authenticity and morale; I'm done with watching "First Take"; felt more like first fake with the way those two treated this highly sensitive and important topic.

The NBA is a meritocracy where grown, physically fit men are employed based on skill, genetics and basketball IQ. If you're such a pansy, don't watch. JaVale McGee is a laughingstock, he's improved, but is still a laughingstock. Racial hypocrisy at it's finest by the McGees and Shannon.

I agree with Shannon about the crab in bucket analogy, but if I laugh it's funny I laugh every time I can't help it. Shaq knows Mcgee is sensitive so he keeps trying him. We know it's not right but we do have that stigma of not being soft.

Javale has played great this season has only had maybe one or two shaqtin a fools this season. So it's just gets annoying when you're playing good and haven't messed for shaq to come out and bring up old messes for no reason

The hardest job in sports broadcasting has to be Ernie Johnson---balancing those personalities. As for Shaq, JaVale has only appeared on Shaqtin' once this calendar year (and it was really Stephen Curry's fault), but he has really treated JaVale worse than most people who make similar mistakes.

People on here asking McGee to toughen up need to realise that bullying doesn't stop when you're a child, and it isn't limited to physical confrontations. Mental bullying is a thing, and to some extent is worse as it affects you mentally. Shaq has been specifically targetting McGee for no particular reason. Using footage from previous seasons to make a mockery out of a player who has been doing well this season.
@creeplocc8 жыл бұрын
Honey Badger yea sadly some people on here think it funny to get bully and being reminded that you keep mess up until one day that person might cant handle it no more and commits suicide

He said us black people. I think you are the one on the picture, so why are you jumping here? Us black people got a problem. We want validation from white people on everything, not something to be proud of but it's a white man world. So instead of trashing each other, we should big up each other. Making another black man a laughing stock is not something to be proud of
@AntonyTheGod8 жыл бұрын
Yonas mulu because saying you want validation is a snide way of saying whites hold power of you which obviously I think is garbage. I'm first generation Australian from a family of immigrants so I have no dog in the fight. it's just my belief watching all of this that people who are the first to bring race into any sort of conversation are the ones who hold more prejudice

Skip comes at LeBron wayyy harder than this. Technically Shaq's is still basketball related. This is only a big deal because Shaq was a great player and Skip is nobody.
@Nestle2458 жыл бұрын
Skip never threatened Lebron. It's a difference once you're keeping it basketball. Shaq threatened to slap Javale the next time he saw him, Shaq took it to another level and shouldn't as an analyst but of course he isn't that, he's just an angry bully.
@ShowtimeMari_8 жыл бұрын
Ness Rosenbrad I was referring to when skip is debating he'll go out of his way to bash lebron even when the topic has nothing to do with him... which is similar to what shaq does... only difference is LeBron doesn't respond to skip because, lk I said, to bron skip is a nobody.
