When i used to do early falcon V8 swaps i would buy a running late 60s rusty V8 Ford cheap and put the whole matching shabang into the early falcon...so much easier than chasing parts...and the 68 69 V8 tailshaft would fit with a 63 Fairlane diff ! ...10 pound hammer fixes the firewall bellhousing clearance...and spacers under the trans mount too !

Great videos, terrible music, traditional Rods & Customs and headbanger music don't compute in my 75 year old brain. Been doing what you are doing since 1963. Thanks! I watch you, Japhands Karl, Iron Trap, & Bellos on a regular basis. I'm glad to see you young guys doing righteous builds. Keep it up, I've got a mute button for the tunes lol

I design and fabricate parts everyday, so for me it’s much easier and more economical to build my own. And since designing these, I’ve sold plenty of them to other people doing swaps, which helps generate income to offset the build costs.

Make you plug the back of the heads where the air injection went, 5/8 11 plug and you have to clean out the threads because of all the carbon build up also plug the hole in the side of the block were the dip stick is for the rear sump oil pan. I'm new here and didn't see part 1 and 2 so if you did all that cool and never mind.

The block plate has nothing to do with the bellhousing. The block plate is there to support and properly index the starter because Fords generally mount the starter to the bellhousing rather than the block. The block plate, in theory, ensures that the start is in the right spot. Love you were able to get that together without having to cut up the car. Everyone can do what they'd like, but some cars just shouldn't be cut up. Clean install!

Yea! If you look up some of the early production photos, they said Edsel on the quarter panel instead of Comet. And when you start comparing the styling ques from 59 and 60 Edsel, it’s very clear they were destined to be Edsel. The gauge clusters, the taillights (60 Edsel specifically) the trunk emblem and how comet keys have the big “C” engraved in the same font as the big “E” Edsel used. I really nerd out over that stuff haha

I always built mounts when installing V8's in cars/trucks that didn't come factory with them, you'd be surprised what you can do with channel iron and square tubing or even mounts from a completely different vehicle.

Another way to get stubborn pilot bearings out. Make a pin to fit the hole. Fill hole halfway w grease. Insert pin and give a couple of hammer blows. It will creep out...

oh man, i have so many questions about how you guys are putting this car together. i bought a two door 61 comet in june last year and i want to get it back on the road. i6 is roached so a 302 is the way to go. im currently in the middle of rebuilding brakes and wheel bearings in the rear. i need to upgrade the master cylinder, and i plan on doing a front disk conversion out of 80s granada parts. theyre a direct bolt on conversion from what ive read. its awesome to see someone else building a comet too. i like they direction shannon is taking the car in. i would love to have a conversation with you guys at some point so i could pick your brain a bit about this build.

Nice work, love the look of that 302. When you did the swap were you able to use the stock coil spings or did you have to change them? Some time around 1984 when I was 15 or 16 I bought a black 2 door comet. Me and 5 of my friends pushed it home. For decades I thought it was a 1960 but after watching all these youtube videos I'm convinced it was a 1961. It had the 170 i6. I got it up and running, put some red quilted gaucho diamond tuft on the door cards, added a weird under dash cassette player and I was off to the races. I loved that little car. I often wonder whatever happened to it. I was and still am on the west coast of B.C.

I put a 302 in my 63 falcon wagon and tried to use that front frame crossmember from my 62 falcon. It does not fit without some mods. I’ll prob end up making a new one altogether. Any bracing helps in these ole falcons. I can feel the different just adding the upper Monte Carlo bar. Good luck.

What brake booster did you use? I did the engine swap to my 60 about 22 years ago and if I remember right the 65 mustang exhaust manifolds that point straight back worked well. Just been too many years to remember everything
@LGKustoms

The brake booster is just a universal “street rod” 7” booster and a 1967 Mustang master cylinder. The exhaust manifolds we used are 1963 Falcon/comet and they fit perfectly. Shannon found them at a swap meet for $50
