Pretty sure both Li and Shanxi Li will grow fine in your place.

I am in Northern Virginia zone 7a too. We do get down below O f in the winter. You should be able to grow them without any problems.

I planted the trees two years ago.the big on,li was in a 25gl.pot.the smaller one, Shanxi Li from a 3 gl. Pot.
