ashley G They released 2 different types of bronzers one matte and one with a sheen. The darkest shade of the matte is not yet available, but Punta Cana is the darkest of the sheen bronzers. The shade was expected to be as deep as the matte one.

The Alamar palette isn’t bad at all. The bronzing shade actually shows up though. It’s gives Hoola Toasted vibes but a bit darker ☺️ Paired with the deepener shade, it’s a very beautiful sculpt. Perfect for soft glam. The brightening shade is gorgeous under the eyes as well.

I just ordered the darker of the new ilia bronzers even though the lighter shade looks like it would work for me because I'm not ready for that headache and I'm very bad at returning things. I've only ever really had good luck with luxury bronzers, Givenchy is my ride or die. Also, I'm tired of Nars I feel like they've been failing for a year and we're just not talking about it

There is a deeper NARS bronzer that just came out. It’s called Quirimba. And it’s called their matte bronzer. Out of stock at Sephora. But it’s described as a deep reddish brown.

Makeup Revolution came out with a pretty dark bronzer a couple weeks ago. It's called revolution pro bronzing powder. Full Spectrum also has a bronzer as well. Two drugstore options.

Lollllll!!! Punta Cana looks like the perfect "setting bronzer" for you. Francesca Tolot used to do Beyoncé's makeup frequently during the Dreamgirls/B'Day era and she said that she used to set her with translucent powder all over but then to control flashback, she would do a "bronzer set" putting Nars Laguna all over her face because Nars Laguna was almost exactly Bey's skintone. Naturally, this happened because so few products existed in 2007 for even Beyoncé's skin tone, much less someone darker. Anyways bronzer setting looks super beautiful for the summer time on oily skin, I was an MUA back in the day and constantly shared this trick with Black girls who would allow me the honor of doing their makeup and it would look amazing, as long as the bronzer was similar in skintone (so dark skin girls were always super left out of even that). It wouldnt look bronzed at all, just skin tone correct but glowy. In case anyone watching is stuck with a bronzer that doesn't look bronze but like their skin, there you go.

Fenty Mocha Mami is my all time fave- the redness in it balances my neutral undertone nicely. I bought the Morphe one right before rona hit but haven’t tried it yet since I’ve been working from home and haven’t touched makeup in a month.

I use the Benefit bronzer & I LOVE it! It’s perfect for my complexion I’m in bet Jackie’s & your complexion. Weird comparison but it reminds me of the chestnut lip pencil from MAC color. 👌🏾

To be honest, NARS bronzer tend to more subtle and natural looking in general even their highlights are like that, most brands have an aesthetic that they tend stick too (mainly coz that’s their target audience). For Nars, it’s all about creating that skin like experience but a tad better. However there are some areas that the brand could improve in or expand on, for sure!

So I’m of a deeper complexion similar to you and I’m over these brands playing with us! However, I can totally see the NARS one being a bronzer for fairer skinned black girls or brown/light skinned ones. They definitely need to drop more shades, but at least some of my sistas can wear it. It’s still hard for us out here.
