Kung Lao didn’t die in MK11 because later on we still see his revenant. For those who might still be confused, MK11 Story mode and Aftermath explained that if a former past kombatant dies, so does the future one as well. A good example is past Kano dying from Sonya and therefore killing future Kano. Aftermath shows Shao Khan crippling past Liu Kang and then it cuts to Raiden and future Liu Kang (revenant) where Liu tried to attack Raiden but suddenly his legs break. So later on in Aftermath, Kronika is seen giving revenant Jade, Kitana, and KUNG LAO some of her power. Maybe people can say that with Kronika’s power, that’s why revenant Kung Lao didn’t die BUT it shows regular revenant Kung Lao before he becomes even more “powerful”. This is long but I just wanted to be clear that past Kung Lao did manage to SURVIVE the sea of blood. But you can say that REVENANT Kung Lao dies.

uLtraRaziYT you’re talking about 10 years ago or more Johnny Cage and it’s not a fight to the death ( yes I know you can basically cripple them when fighting BUT story mode just skips that and pretends it never happened), it’s more like talking sense into him and just bruises that should have healed by now for PRESENT Johnny and not knock him out. Also when young Johnny got shot by his cheek, it left a mark on BOTH of them. Basically if anything serious happens in story mode, it matters, but when fighting, it doesn’t matter much as I can literally drill into your head and just throw you just for you to get up again.

I don’t think Kung Lao dies there in MK11 Aftermath. If he did die, his revenant would die too and Shang Tsung fights said revenant later.
