I remember an Old Theory back around 2009, Shaolin Monks Liu Kang are believed to be a Younger Shujinko due to him being more brutal and believing whatever he does is for the greater good. Since this is totally Against Liu Kang personality. In MK1 and Half of MK2, Liu Kang are against Violence. Other theories said that MK vs DC was a continuation of Shaolin Monks, practicly an Unofficial Reboot. But its all just a Theory, Game Theory.

I'm playing Shoalin Monks for my channel right now, every monday is what i'm gonna be calling Mortal Monday and will be uploading MK kontent every monday until there is none left, Deception is most likely next but i might just go back to the beginning as Shoalin Monks was just an easy starting point for me as it's shorter than the other games of the era. along with Mortal Monday's i'll be uploading another classic game on Friday's, I've currently got Crash Bandicoot 2 (original), Toy Story 2,Enter The Matrix and as previously stated the whole MK franchise koming, I'm trying to get 500 subscribs by the end of the year. While I don't mind a bit of foreshadowing for the next game, yeah, there was no reason to have Quan Chi show up at the end. This is also the first game to give him his Deadly Alliance design and disregard the purpose of the red markings on his head and arms. They were supposed to be the key to how he would control Onaga's army but since he wasn't a necromancer, he needed Shang Tsung to activate the army. Now they are no different than tattoos he just wears for kicks. Since this game doesn't mention Onaga, we have to wonder if he or his army even exist in this universe. If they don't, then they might as well just be cool tattoos he wears for kicks. The same applies for MK vs DC.

I don't think anyone plays it still or that it even matters, I'm just putting it here for nostalgia's sake. 1. Sticking to the very edge of the circular arena when running away from Shao Kahn is the best way to do it. Cutting across the arena gives him the chance to corner u. U also need to be running together in the same direction so it's not a guessing game who he'll be coming for. If u get it right u won't need long jump or double jump. Also, I noticed its better to stay down as long as possible if u get clipped by the rotating hammer move. The faster u get up, the more he gets u, but if u don't press anything when ur character is on the floor, they'll stay down for 2-3 swings during which u won't get clipped. 2. My cousin and I had a brotherhood forged from the flames of beating Shao Kahn. We tried and failed till our thumbs got numb our eyes were beetroot red and we lost our perception of time, but we became like Reptile and Mileena since then; inseprable haha. Kung Lao has this incredibly useful attack, one where if u have 3 seconds to let it activate, the hat spins around him for some time and deals massive damage if u pair it with ground attacks and jumps coz he won't jump he'll stick on the opponents. Doesn't work on small opponents or nimble bosses, it works AMAZING on huge guys like a Shao Kahn or Goro. 3. U can cheat and unlock everything WAAAAY early in the game. There's a multiplayer secret area in Goro's layer, the room with the large pile of roasting Onis just before the mini boss. In there spawns an endless wave of Oni and u are meant to knock enemies into 2 bells to get to another room that gets u out of there. U could do that and leave, OOOOORR, u can XP farm the endless horde till u unlock most of the moves u need. 4. The secret room in The Foundry u get by placing a few hits on fairly specific locations on the ground in a specific sequence using the crystal breaking blade. I can remember the steps just not the sequence, but once you do its a 9 level survival TREAT. Hordes of enemies, amazing new arenas and multi boss fights. Try Goro AND kintaro at the same time, or better yet, Scorpion, Sub Zero, Ermac and Daddy-Big-Snake himself, AT THE SAME TIME! U can go solo or multiplayer.

Absolute accurate the fact that a run of shaolin monks focus 99% of the players efforts in the final fight, that is craaaaaazy. I remember the first time i beat it, the game crashed on the cinematic and it broke my mind to this day. Buuut there is a way to cheese this fight, if you take kung lao's final hat attack, the one that it keeps spinning around his body and you do his slinding ground kick move, since Kintaro and Shao Kahn are heavy and dont move, they eat up ALL the hits and you dish out a absurd amount of damage lol

Theory: You can recognize if Raiden is Shang Tsung by his blue robe / outfit. Real Raiden has only simple blue fabrics, while Shang Tsungs "verison" has these golden edges. Haven't watched your video to the end, so maybe you said that already, idk.

Also, i have to defend Kung Lao's behayvior in this game. In the classic lore, he actually allowed Liu Kang to go to the tournament (i know that almost everyone says, is that this game retconed this story, but i never found the source in-game). But in this game he goes disguised, and for what the second custscene tell, he cleared the way from many traps. And during the intro, Shang Tsung almost kills Liu Kang, who went there thanks to Kung Lao's refusal. So he has a good reason to be pissed. Plus, in the moment he was getting recognition for doing his job in the shadows, Baraka invades the Wu Shi, killing many people. For all of that bs he went through, i think that even the pacifist Kung Lao (and Liu Kang too for the invasion) have good reasons to leave his good guy side for behind, and be willing to fight against anything that Outworld throws at him

Maybe Shang Tsung-as-Liu Kang was complaining about the Goro-kill-steal to make Kang look like a prick, rather than because Tsung was personally annoyed by that? He was trying to sow conflict between them, after all. I always found the bickering between Liu Kang and Kung Lao pretty funny in this game. You would think they were 12-years old, given some of the stuff they say and do.
