Love it. It is so fundamentally important to our lives to remove our “unconscious conditioning” exactly as he says. And we need to have the physicality in order to deal with all of the soft things. You want to know what is soft? Deal with what is hard. Balance. Wow. I finally understand warrior monks. The physical, the fire, the warrior … balances out … the peaceful, the sitting, the meditating, the stillness.

I know karma is something we all have to face during this lifetime but I am happy to be relaxed and doing what the master has send me to do on this physical plane. I am finally beginning to see myself as I am thanx to Shi Yeng Yis teaching. IIts about spirit, the attitude, being inside, to grasp what's going on behind the scenes. Directing thoughts. Being physical. Connecting as a whole. Muscle memory = repetition. Balance. It's more than action in pretty words it's a feeling/emotion.

Thanks for this wonderful interview. Exactly why I'm practicing tai chi (with chi circulation and breath condition) along karate. By the way, I recently learned that some japanese karate masters also integrated chi kung in some katas. I believe we need a balance of internal and external pratices.
@BadgerFireMoon3 жыл бұрын
A lot of martial arts teachers teach the kata slow to move with the breath then once it's perfected you speed it up even then if you're learning advancing in belts you learn more and more katas you may start to forget older ones you have to go back do them slow again remembering.

Like the saying goes there are 24 hours in everyday and I sleep very little ...so I need to fill up the extra hours with education and practice !

My life has not been easy sometimes my mind is in agony constantly reliving the past or trying to figure out the future I think I need just still down and force it to be quiet and meditate sometimes it works sometimes it just makes it worse so I'll try a mantra to drown out my own thoughts sometimes it works but if it doesn't work I go for a walk if I'm really angry I might go to hit the bag then after I've exhausted myself I find I can meditate the opposite also happens I'll think I'm angry I'll go hit the bag alas I'm only getting more angry ok go meditate. Then there are times neither work ok pick up my guitar or brushes but the worst thing to do is just sit there in it. And sometimes I just need a hug. This guy though he gets it.
