Such a positive and inspiring man. I'm trying to get my Shaolin Kung Fu back, which I stopped practicing 25 years ago, because watching his videos makes me think, yeah I'm 43 but if I train with that relentless attitude, I can be in shape again, and keep it forever. Besides I suspect you should never stop doing something that you dedicated a lot of your time to, your spirit withers and life goes wrong. You gave something good to your spirit, it lives in withdrawal after that. Let's see where this takes me, I'm hopeful for a positive change. Thank you, Mulligan Brothers, all the best !!

That was lovely to listen to. So real. So you both had seven in the family ? Try twelve where most don't lift a finger to try and help with anything. It nearly destroyed me - wore me down - but in the end I was stronger. My father told me when he was dying, 'Of all my children - YOU were and are the strongest....' Well you can imagine it was tears n' snotters or roars of laughter. Four died in infancy or would have been sixteen. My poor mother. But she was a strong woman with a BIG heart. She died less than three months ago. I better go or I will start blubbering. Well done boys.

I love that Shifu Yan Lei emphasizes that training in the Shaolin Temple is primarily about self discipline and self-challenge not so much for fighting. But it does not exclude fighting! Very modest! I still revere Shaolin as a great and formidable fighting discipline!

I hit play and I'm already 22 minutes in.... This interview is quite captivating. Love Shifu Yan Lei's energy, the flow of the conversation (picking up in great points to expand upon them, and also great knowledge drops being made by the Shifu. Pausing and returning just because it's 1:22 am here and I need to sleep :D Appreciate you all and thank you for the conversation!

Thanks for sharing your history and knowledge, Shifu Yan Lei. Indeed, poverty in itself causes problems. There's a rising population of homeless military veterans in America. When it will reach critical mass? i don't know. Fighting is hurting the opponent but remember the opponent is human just like you are. And it's usually illegal to damage an opponent's clothing. i knew an Australian who got in a fight with a door man in Japan. He smacked the doorman around a little bit. the doorman fell. and 3 months later *knock, knock. * The police came to his door cause he damaged the doorman's 50,000 yen suit./500 dollar suit when the doorman fell. Please work within the law. You can't win against the law. Be good. Being a tough macho man is also just for show. Be like good water, my friend. ☮️🖖🎶 Sorry life was hard for you when you were young. ☮️

Bro I feel you. I use to train under him for a lil bit when I was a teenager and I was great and Maybe in my prime now I'm 26 but My idiotic self stopped training with him and went my own route with Muay Thai and compete and I lost two days ago in the ring. Now I'm back to training with Master. Today my first day back with him. I'm just extremely grateful. I had to lose this fight so I can go back to master and appreciate master for what he has done for me. My first teacher and my only true master in the art. I'm grateful. His first teaching to me was to always bow to my mum. I'll never forget that.

I went to the Shaolin Temple, back around 2007- the last day I ever spent there, was in 2015! Fees were far too expensive, sadly, which caused me, to give it up, will I return back, one day? Maybe, but it's a-lot of time and money, to sacrifice. There was also a tragic incident, that happened in Tai Chi- it might be too personal, to explain it here, so I don't think I will. I don't think Tyson can beat Shifu Yang Lei though, if he indeed, has mastered Iron body/shirt, and shins, Tyson's ribs and gut punches, would be like cotton, Shifu would probably floor Tyson, with some powerful combos, don't know if he mastered Iron forearm too, that's one style, I would have liked to learn, since your opponent is screwed either way, whether you block him, or you attack him, if he backs away.
