This guy is really knowledgable. It's all about unpacking the basic forms to learn their applications, and he's deconstructing the forms beautifully.

Dear Shifu KANISHKA, First, accept my appreciation of the speed, fluidity and multilevel application of self defence as applied by an advanced level Shaolin Xia Hong Expert, like You. Having spent over 30 years as an instructor of Goju-ryu Karate, teaching mostly beginners, I would encourage yout Shifu KANISHKA, to shouw the beginners, how to face aggressors with Maritala art knowledge above their level. Methodically, I am particularly fond of the last part of your presentation when fighting at a long distance and countering with legs, afgter moving to the sides. That approach could be taught at the beiginnig, as close distance is the matter of higher provicciency. Best regards, Paul Bajusz, 65, retired instructor from Europe.

I have seen hundreds of Shaolin videos, but for the first time all the techniques are perfectly clear. I trained in Wing Chun for a while and find some similarities. Respect from Sri Lanka. Great stuff, Sifu!
@Bones-uu6zp2 ай бұрын
You found "SOME" similarities ⁉️😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Then your teacher was not as good as they could be, by FAR TOO. ‼️✅👉 WING CHUN is invented by the SOUTH SHAOLIN TEMPLE TO BOTH LEARN & TO KILL QUICKLY, the oppressing government that had DEFEATED THE LARGER NORTHERN SHAOLIN TEMPLE and so forcing the survivors to teach them everything or die, THAT'S WHY TRUE WING CHUN PRACTITIONERS ARE AMONGST THE MOST DEADLY IN OUR WORLD, IT IS FOR KILLING. PERIOD. - IT IS TAKEN FROM ALL KUNG FU, BUT CRANE AND SNAKE MOVEMENTS WITH A FOCUS ON STEEL FINGERS, IRON PALM, AND THE EXPLOSIVE SHORT STRIKE ( a. K. a. the silly named I INCH PUNCH made popular in the West by BRUCE LEE REVEALING IT PUBLICLY- and Bruce couldn't break MULTIPLE BRICKS IN A ROW yet with it, he was still developing. A SHAME AND A COMPLETE ABSOLUTE DISGRACE for the Triad to murder Bruce and his son Brandon.) - OF COURSE THERE ARE MANY SIMILARITIES YOU WILL FIND; THE KUNG FU OF THE SYSTEM NOW KNOWN AS "WING CHUN" AND/OR VING TSUN, [ call it TREE SAP, it still is what it is. 😂 ] - simply talking the larger circular movements, like you see here in this fantastic demonstration, and change them down into very small circles YES THEY ARE STILL THERE- JUST UNSEEN AND UNFORTUNATELY UNKNOWN TO EVEN MOST PRACTITIONERS BECAUSE THE SYSTEM WAS VERY SECRET AND KEPT THAT WAY.

I love how when you demonstrate your techniques you don't just say "he does this so i do this" like so many other guys do. You say "When he does this, I could do this AND if he does something to block and counter me then I have this option." So many demonstrators make it look like there is a definite way to block and counter anything and the opponent will be helpless; which is always wrong because the other guy can respond yo your initial response. Thank You Shifu Kanishka for sharing your insights with the world who is ready for it. I started training at 12yo in karate at a community center for a measly $15/mo in the late 80s. My sensei would show up to every class infallibly, even when he was sick or injured. He would explore/explain a technique ad infinitum if we let him. When one loves an art/sport, one makes sacrifices without much of a fore thought. This Shifu seems to be made of the same stuff. To Mr S Kill GR, a lot of martial arts have evolved to sports because after all noone should die at a tournament. These arts were perfected in fields of battle/interpersonal combat. Jigaro Kano kept out a lot of the lethal techniques found in ju jitsu/s and Judo was the result. It evolved into more of a sport out of necessity to exist during the american occupation of japan. Before that Judo was still dangerous for it's practitioners sort of speak. Same thing with Karate. These arts had to survive in a different environment than what gave them birth. The UFC changed a lot after UFC five or six because it had the potential to be too brutal, politics aside. It is a great sport and I am a fan of it. We perfect what we practice mindfully. I don't think Shifu Kanishka is being irresponsible in his demonstrations. In fact, I am ever grateful for gift since I can see aspects of my arts application. Few hoodlums would take the time to understand/practice the techniques so they are useful. Bullets have empowered the coward. I wish I was as well spiritually developed as this Shifu. Eat bitter everyone!

It is not about what you guys like or dont like. It is also not about what will win you a title in the UFC. Martial arts is about having discipline and learning how to control your body. Carlos, I agree with you 100%. I teach martial arts myself and one the things I teach my students is about showing courtesy and respect to others. I teach my students not to look for trouble or start fights and in some situations you are best to walk away. It doesn't mean you are afraid by walking away and I could seriously jack someone up if I had to but still, you never know when some guy is going to pull a gun out on you and blow your brains out because some guy don't care if they shoot someone and if they go prison for it, no big deal to them. It cracks me up when some guys come on and leave RUDE, NASTY, AND DISRESPCTFUL POSTS! Instead of appreciating the time this guy took to share some martial arts skills and just be thankful. Look, if someone doesn't like something, fine, but no need to be an asshole about it! So some of these guys have big mouths and act all bad ass and most of these guys have no class. Anyone can be all bad ass behind a computer screen! All my martial instructors have class and show others respect and yet they can clean someone's clock when they need to. To all the respectful guys here, my hat goes off to you. One, last thing....when someone is demonstrating a technique the other opponent isn't trying to kill the other guy! When you are teaching techniques you are not trying to kill someone in the process. So instead of being rude and a jerk, try learning something new and if feel you got to act like an asshole, try keeping your mouth shut instead! No disrespect here to anyone, just had to vent this.

one is makin money for the UFC producers, and personal fame the other is dedication to an art for the sake of the art and many other reasons i dont want to list here, because the initiated already know, and the haters can go and fuck themselves. - comparing a money-sport practised by people too stupid for a real job with a lifetime dedication to an art, the own school, students and teachers is outright foolish.

Shaolin quan in this video is definitely created by Chinese. Buddhism is originated from India, but the kongfu of Shaolin is from China. You can see the name of the moves is 'Shaolin Xiao Hong quan' which is a Chinese name, and the names of steps that the master are saying is Chinese pronunciation. I think the master's master is a Chinese. This is the best practical application of Shaolin quan I have ever seen though.

This is real martial arts here, the attacks to the vital points and damaging joint locks & hits to the limbs are no joke. This is deadly stuff. Real traditional MA can be formidable

Hung has an incredible ability to stump grappling. I didn’t see that. I do believe in traditional martial arts so I am exited to see people who can translate the forms. Keep it up and find comfort in the most uncomfortable situations.

@ubriaco2 I cant speak on much else as I only box (and am pretty new at that) though the parry/grab counter for the jab/cross combo I'm not sure about. One problem with parries is you're essentially dropping your guard. Which works if it blocks! But if you miss or they feint it can leave a whole in your defense Also with grabbing their wrist, that would have to be pretty precise. Again, kinda wondering about how it drops your guard. It's interesting stuff to think about and I could definitely be wrong. That's my insight on it.

@@saraths6842 There is a video somewhere on youtube of north shaolin Luohan 18 hands (I cannot remember where), and two or three of south shaolin 18 hands. About ten years ago there was a website called "Taiping Dao" who had a lot of southern styles very old videos taken in a park the same day with a wide pannel of southern masters (probably pre cultural revolution / destruction), but it became plagued with computer malware. Then there there was the youtube channel "Taiping Dao" who had all those videos... but no more... there is still a lot of good stuff there, but more and more those old videos are deleted in favor or modern crap that is not wushu but wu-show-buisness. The other place to look is on the youtube channel "Tea Serpent" and check out the playlist "Fujian MA". There is many Luohan things there, including 18 hands (if ever Luohan is also spelled Lohan, or can be Arhat or Arhant, or sometimes called Tea Shop or Incense Shop). There is also a karate kata of the Goju style named Seipai that is also of the same familly of martial arts. Sorry for not putting links... youtube often delete comments with links.... If ever you're interested in Luohan stuff, I may give you another youtube video channel, but I cannot find it now and not bothered to search if probably not interested.
