So exiting, I have never been so happy to be part of a revolution, it's much more than CNC. I started my apprenticeship in 1971 so I know when something is worth the money and our time.

I watched this video 3x already over a span of a few months. Superior communicator here! This fellow really knows his craft and product! This router and workstation system is futureshock! Amazing! I wonder does he still work at Shaper?

Hey, watching this one I wonder... why spoil board only only on the table side of the work piece? Wouldn't you also want to clamp one to the outside? Might have something to do with the direction of the cut but... dunno

One thing I have found that is a problem with this workstation on day 1 was that there is no back support for when you place heavier wood on the shelf. I made a larger shelf top and using bigger materials bends it down. Why no back support? It just hangs off the ledge and has no contact with the back surface that its mounted onto. Huge oversight in my opinion.

We use Workstation in most Shaper Sessions! Should be some opportunities to see Workstation being used for a project like the ones you're interested in!

I am concerned that the cam fixing for the shelf pulls up towards you to lock. rather than locking by pushing away from the operator, This could mean bumping into the clamp and loosening the shelf inadvertently. A better design would be that pushing away from the oporator towards the bench will only secure the shelf more preventing accidental loosening while you are intent on working on the shaper. Just an observation. Id love one but out of my price range for occasional use.

i love using the shaper origin so much and now i have a part where i'll be needing this workstation so thanks for the introduction it will help a lot! just one question; can you scan the part that you're working on just by turning the shaper 180degrees? or you just don't scan the part since you lways have the same working space?
@Mansoor0132 жыл бұрын
Yes you can spin it around as long as there is some of the tape in your peripheral field.

I think shaper tape so expensive. You could redesign to not use shaper tape.
@harveytherobot3 жыл бұрын
The workstation doesn’t use Shaper tape. The pattern is built into the table. Also, you can make your own custom workspaces that reuse the tape you put down. Lastly, the tool needs the reference dots to alight itself. Tape is the most flexible way to do this.
@colinturner66282 жыл бұрын
@@harveytherobot The tape should be cheaper as a consumable, it's what decides whether the machine can be used or not used, That's Festool all over fleece as much money as they can, not content with the amount customers actually spend just to purchase the tools & machinery. The tape should not be more than £7.50 a roll, and that would still be expensive. When your spending upwards of £3,500 only to give two rolls of tape with the machine is just being downright tight.
@harveytherobot2 жыл бұрын
@@colinturner6628 I didn’t know you had access to all of the company’s financial information and expenses and payroll and marketing costs etc., so that you could determine what a roll of their tape should cost vs what they charge. Impressive. You should inform them of their calculation error right away.

This is not a sharper it a router a real wood worker would know the deference. Hate people doing video and lying what the hell it real is.
