It's pretty cool clawdites worked as spies for the New Republic during the Yuuzhan Vong War. Considering their shape-shifting abilities, they were the PERFECT species for such role

It's missed opportunity that we never heard anything about Clawdite actors or theaters. It should reely be one of the more common cultural ways for them to express themselves in a midst of poverty and oppression especially that theatre would teach young clawdites the essential skills of espionage. Even if it wasn't popular on their homeworld for whatever reason, i bet the space hollywood of galactic republic would kill for one actor who could work as ten and be cheap on the whole characterisation costs...

Not quite sure what a “guttural language” would sound like, but imagine someone “clearing their throat” in odd places onscreen, especially in situations where dust/pollutants/allergens are common, and realizing that now you can’t trust if they’re a shifter, or just someone having a bad throat day. 😨

Also, if they were not so guarded about their shapeshifting powers, and were somehow artificially reproduced for other people, you could become someone like the Calexus Assassins from Warhammer 40k.! They are special female assassins from a particular Schola. They come from one of the most brutal Scools in the entire Imperium! They train for many years for their craft. Of course, some are more gifted than others. To be able to transform, they imbibe a particular concoction to do so.This is a very simple way to explain it, but I did my best.

One question about the Star Wars Galaxy is why don't oppressed species try to emigrate to another Planet? The Clawdites could have moved off world and set up a colony far away, or create Clawdite town on an established Planet. A big problem for refugees is finding a place to settle where xenophobic locals don't go "F_ off we're full" - in Star Wars there's a lot of uninhabited free real estate. About the only ones with the sense to do that were the Lasat, and that saved them from extinction.
@shadowslayer2059 ай бұрын
One reason is the possibility of being hunted down wherever they go, whether by the oppressors themselves or by a multitude of mercenary gangs or hunters that said oppressors could hire to do the job for them. [Trandoshan gangs are pretty much specialized for this kind of work.]
@Brutalyte6169 ай бұрын
Moving to another planet in Star Wars is still a difficult and expensive process, usually relying upon existing infrastructure that might have been built decades or even centuries ago, and even then the colonists have to start completely from scratch unless they bring more equipment and resources with them, which costs money. And many unclaimed worlds are also outside the jurisdiction of galactic law, kind of like boomtowns were in the United States during the Gold Rush; these settlements technically don't exist in the eyes of the law and thus don't benefit as much from said laws and galactic regulation until they're more established, which takes time given the bureaucracy and logistics involved with galactic policy. Moving is already hard, and homesteading is even worse, but trying to build a colony on a new planet that can be recognized and benefit from the wider galaxy without being exploited like, say, the Twi'leks or the Wookies were on their homeworlds is an altogether even more insurmountable task.

It's important to remember that there are a limited number of type 1 atmospheres out there. Plenty of living space, but only so many good colonies
