An addition to the whole "madclaw" thing, they describe in detail in the game why this is seen as such a shameful display. The wookies are apparently sort of embarassed about their berserker rage mode and they see the ability to avoid using their claws even when furious as something that separates them, a highly intelligent sapient species, from animals. So the rule is that their claws can only be used as tools, which incidentally probably helps a lot with their famous woodcrafting ability.

On the subject of Wookiees using claws, I remember one of the novels I read (it may have been the "Heir to the Empire" trilogy) where it was observed (I don't recall if it was by Han or Leia) one point when Chewie was tinkering with some piece of machinery with a claw. The novel noted that it is a point of courtesy amongst Wookiees not to use claws in a lot of social interactions, citing a point that they are, at their base, climbing tools for their trees, therefore seeing him picking at something with a claw was a rare sight, but not within forbidden actions.

Just because the wookies are too nuanced to get a show showing their exploits like the Mandalorians doesn't mean they aren't badass. Not a diss on the Mandos, they have nuance too, but they also mostly speak basic and don't actively try not to lean into being a warrior culture.

I was just reading about the silverback and about je’daii and how they left tython etc. They moved to Ossus blah blah jedai and dark jedai blah blah. But everything seems to be about humans and those who stayed were predominantly humans - like those who settled in Ossus are human. But those tho yor brought humanoids from all the galxies and they eventually settled on rest of the planet in this system. What happed to all those different species especially that it seems like some of the species had to be later rediscovered even though they were part of the initial orders.

What needs to be acknowledged is the importance the battle of Kashyyk was to the Empire. The Wookie is a "Long Lived" "Warrior Race" ... ... It never made sense to me why they appear so thickly covered in fur or hair, when their planet is a tropical jungle. Think you would be warm as heck (Chewbacca is fine on Hoth, so it proves they would be sweating their asses off) Also, a creature that lives until 200 wouldn't reach maturity at the same time as humans (18), who are lucky to live to 100. They are actually not very well thought out at all.
