I started making a cool pair of fins a year ago but then got side tracked, all cut out and in the beginning stages of being foiled, your channel got me stoked on fins, still need to finish them!!

@@JDubHannah Yeah its pretty awesome! I have a scrap resin project I'm finishing up the video on now. Then I have some fins and a board started and a really a out there project. But I had to start looking for more paying work so that sucks up a lot of time now.

*** Not the best camera for sports fast action filming, but still does a good job in the water, comes at a good price point and is great for filming board builds in the garage. Actually making a whole new vid about the camera and the water housing I use! It’s the Sony zv-1

Sick colours ! Could you stain the foam using the same technique on an epoxy blank ?

You can but eps foam just doesn’t pick up color very well unfortunately

I might of missed it. Did you say what you did for bottom contours? Sweet board!

Jonathan we did a single through the midsection to a double concave through the tail, adds speed and directionality through the mid section by reducing “form drag” and then splitting the water through the tail makes for a more lively fun tail! Looks great. Poly resin? Any snags with the acrylic foam stain and the resin?

Nah man, turned out great, and yes poly resin! you would get into problems if you didn’t squeegee off excess acrylic paint thoroughly, if you left a thick layer the resin wouldn’t be bonding to the foam and you would get de-lamination. But with good technique zero issues🙌🙌🙌

Hey thanks man, poly blank so no need to seal, I do really like a seal for EPS though, definitely give z seal a try!

Hey heck ya! If you live in so-cal I buy blanks at bashams surf factory in San Clemente, there is foam ez and fiberglass source near Huntington Beach, if you live outside of socal green light surf supply and foam ez ship blanks for about $100
