I have shaped myself an Asym midlength, however I think a common misconception is that they are designed to go one direction, which isn't the case. They are meant to play to your strengths and weaknesses on your backside as well as frontside. That is my interpretation of them anyway, it goes well both ways! Think Matt Parker of Album surfboards has a similar stance on it.

I’m still not convinced they work equally well going opposite. To me it makes sense that transitioning from a shorter to longer rail outline, for example 5’3 to a 5’7, is theoretically slower than transitioning from from a normal 5’3 to 5’3 rail. Either way, I freaking love asyms and definitely recommend giving them a try to all those out there who haven’t ridden one! @sandervaneck

Asyms always look so fun

Wave wasters you definitely have to shape one, it’s bizarre and awesome when you go to cut back and the board just turns on a dime! Definitely recommend!

Hey ! Loved your video, what fin placement do you use for the toe and heel side please ?
@JDubHannah2 жыл бұрын
Hey stoked you like the vid👍. Toe side I placed as a twin fin position 10 inches up with an 1/8 inch tow in, set at 6 degrees cant. On heel side for the quad fin set up I placed the lead fin 12 inches up and the trailing fin 7 inches up both with 1/4 inch tow-in and 4 degrees fin cant (angle). I really like the feel of the setup, but could always tweak it to make it more or less aggressive. Hey Like and Subscribe to support the channel! Hope this helps!

Have you found delam issues when painting eps foam? Whats the trick? I always thought you could paint PU
@JDubHannah2 жыл бұрын
No sir, I’ve never had a delamination or any problems painting EPS. As long as your using water based paint(not oil based!) and just airbrushing on a nice thin layer you are good to go. Thats the big advantage of using an airbrush, your atomizing the paint and lay down just a thin layer that still allows the resin to penetrate through 👍. Also I have found most water based paints to be too thick to airbrush well, I end up adding acrylic paint thinner to decrease the viscosity a bit. I should have the thinner I use linked in the description I believe
