You know she might be right about that whole male/female comedian thing. Naturally, the go-to explanation is "we live in a patriarchy, women are unfairly judged" which is true to an extent, but this idea that men handle rejection better, or, to put it differently, are more stubborn in their persistence, could explain why there are more successful male comedians than female comedians. To get good at stand up, it seems like you have to go through a LOT of rejection, and do stand up for a long time, mostly with tough crowds, before you begin to get good at it.

+Colin Bell I truly think this assessment could be applied to literally every facet of life where men and women are compared.. It's such an honest mindset, and a simple one too though. Guys have tough skin; women aren't wired that way, but CAN build themselves into that over time. Men get no sympathy for swallowing their pride, not even acknowledgement; its just expected.. So.. its an interesting juxtaposition.

Why would you compare the two? Just because they're both women comedians? Comedy is not a sex segregated sport.

Don't Tell the feminists that men's issues are being discussed in public or they'll boycott Shappi's future performances, pull fire alarms and try to end her career.

Lol, to show that she's not funny: look at the comments, they didn't point a joke she said and laugh, they don't say she's funny, and when they do, it's partnered with "and hot" or "and sexy" or "and intelligent".

There are more men in this job because fewer women can laugh at themselves publicly: they prefer to be attractive instead

All I hear most female comedians talk about is the fact that they are women comedians. Maybe talk about something else?
