Back in early 2000's I was a kid who was super into basketball and cards. At one point, I learned that you could send your cards in the mail to the teams and sometimes get them signed (I realized there was a good chance it wasn't actually them signing it) but! Dirk was one of the few people who signed and returned my card back to me. I always liked him but he became one of my favorites after that

Wish I could remember the game, but early 2000's I wanna say; while on Dallas' team. Some defender talked some smack to Dirk after he missed a shot, or was a bad pass or something; the rest of the game Dirk put-it-down, nailed nearly every shot taken for rest of the game. And I believe Dallas won that night too. Always a good athlete, great b-ball talent.

Saw him play in Wurzburg back in 97. My German buddy told me that he was going to play in the NBA. I laughed for 2 reasons…. 1) Wurzburg was 2nd or 3rd league. 2) He played terrible that night. The 2nd time I saw him play he was amazing. I still wasn’t convinced simply because of the guys he was playing against (Maybe Mid-Major caliber). Needless to say he proved any and every doubter wrong. Dirk is the greatest German and Euro to ever play in the NBA.

Was stationed in Orlando in the early 90s at the Naval Training Center. Shaw Shaw a couple times with a load of kids at the Put Put course. And we went to the Magic games on cheap seat Military discount tickets. After half time we would move down closer to the floor as they were mostly empty. They're using zoom, which uses hardcore compression that severely hampers higher end audio quality equipment. So it's not going to matter too much. I use a sm7b with a go xlr and the audio quality through zoom is abysmal.
