Hi Sharalee. I've always worn my hair short and spiky, but then the Pandemic hit and both myself and my stylist went into lockdown. It's now 3 years later and it's back to the length it was in high school. I'm 68, and have never looked good in long hair so having to deal with an 18 inch ponytail has driven me about crazy. Last fall I was searching YT for short hair cuts, and came across your pixie cut and the cowlick video. Let me tell ya, I became an instant fan! I have a big swirl at the bottom of the crown and it takes work to try and hide it. I absolutely love your haircut and your color is gorgeous on you. I'm a redhead with a blending of gray and my stylist (who also watches your vids) told me today that the color is beautiful. I had her give me a Pixie cut, very close to yours, but with me, the first week of a new cut is all about training it to do what I want it to do. I need to put a flat iron on my Amazon wishlist- I'm still old school using curling irons. I'm so happy I watched this tut., I now know I can do so much more styling my new doo. ☮️

The cut is the most important part of any of this. Go to the mall and watch people. Stop them and get the name of their stylist. Even if it expensive, its worth it.You can hide any errors in a short cut.

After your cut, with the right hair prep and a blow dryer your hair can be straightened out quite a bit. Depending how fine your hair is you may not want it straightened that much.

I just love your tutorials. I myself have an undercut pixie, my hair is very natural Curley and I live in a high humidity area bit I believe that the enjoy dry wax will be a great product for me to try along with maneuvering my pixie similar to yours at nape of the neck. It won’t look like yours because of the curled, but I do have a flat iron if I get experimental lol. Thanks for the tips and product info. Your hair is absolutely gorgeous.

TFS......ALWAYS love to see all of your tricks of the trade! I’ve been contemplating (since it’s the first fo the year) to just bit the gullet and get the undercut added to my short pixie cut! I’m just going back and forth of I should do it with my current same stylist or try to get it done with a newer hair stylist who point cuts more and give it more texture! Idk! Wish I could twitch my nose like Bewitched or clink me eyes like I Dream of Jeanie so I could be in CA, meet you and your stylist and have her do it. All in all, I’m just apprehensive because if it’s not done right, it can turn our looking like more of a boyish cut and I DEFINITELY do NOT want that! Such a dilemma! If you know of a stylist that would do a great cut and do the extra point cutting needed, then I'd say that would be the way to go. However, you do want to be sure the newer stylist really knows how to cut pixies and doesn't just cut it like a guy's cut! I think you're right....the best option would be for you to just come on out to California and have Kristen cut it for you!😂🥰

I too love your videos. I’m 60+ years and experienced a heart attack last February. My cardiologist says that the combination of meds that they gave me and my hormone changes is probably what has changed the texture of my hair completely. I’ve been trying to learn how to make my hair look more appealing with the changes I’ve experienced. Your videos have been helping me to experiment and see what works for me. I just can’t seem to figure out how to spike my hair like yours though. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your very informative videos.

Oh goodness, I'm so sorry about your heart attack! It's amazing all of the many things that can affect our hair texture and growth. To have success with adding more spikiness, using a root boosting product really helps and then also making sure the hair is short enough and texturized enough in those areas😘

I find a a bit of dry shampoo helps if my hair is greasy and I don’t have time to wash it. It adds body, too!
