That's a pretty color that your mom chose for the cabinet. You always do such a great job at building the things you feature in your videos. Maybe your mom is at home saying "Look what my baby built?" With a big smile on her face.

I've seen vanities just like this in fancy hotel bathrooms! Amazing how you turn straightforward building supplies into elegant furniture pieces. I could tell right from the intro that this was going to be a chonky piece... normally you just wrangle stuff around without the help of dollies 💪🏻. Looking forward to the rest of the series... and nice to hear you say at 12:30 that you're excited about it too!
@WoodshopDiaries9 ай бұрын
I love chonky builds 🤣 I had to bring in the dolly this time because I’ve done something to my bicep again (it’s a recurring injury) so I’m trying to let it rest as much as I can (which isn’t much 🙈). But I am grateful for wheels when I need them! The next vanity is MUCH different than this one so I’m really looking forward to sharing it! I appreciate you following along and hope you have a great weekend! 🙌😎

This is a very nice project. A new vanity is on our project list. I will be interested in seeing the other designs. We need one with a cabinet below the sink and drawers to one side. Vanities are now so expensive and often made with particle board. The materials in your design are much better. Thanks for sharing.

Its always interesting the fine details you go to in your builds. I have wanted to do one for our powder room but have hesitated because of the issue with regard to plumbing. The drawer around the plumbing makes so much sense and allows the area above the shelf we have now to be used for some additional storage. Thanks again for the ideas you share and the plans you sell at a very reasonable price

Very nice vanity build, Shara! Your parents are very lucky to have you building them a custom piece. Quick question, when you drill picket holes into the side pieces, how far apart do you typically space them? Thanks and keep up the nice work!
@WoodshopDiaries9 ай бұрын
Thank you! I think my parents enjoy receiving the builds as much as I love having a place for them to go when they’re finished haha. I don’t typically space my pocket holes out a certain distance. I think the suggested distance is 6” apart, but depending on what I’m building, when using 3/4” plywood, I usually space them further apart than that.

Looks amazing. My question is, why don't you use maple? You'll only be spending around $30 more in lumber, and you can get 4x4s, so no glue ups.
@WoodshopDiaries22 күн бұрын
Thanks! Maple would be significantly more than $30 difference (at least where I am), and maple 4x4s are not available in any store I’ve ever seen around here so I’d still be gluing them up.

Nice. I need to build a bit bigger one, about 48" wide. I'll check out your other vanity videos. I have a bunch of the Ryobi 18+ tools. They all work great except the nailer, same one you have in this video, quit working after around 100 or so brads. Looked it up and found thats pretty common. Any trouble with yours?
@WoodshopDiaries16 күн бұрын
I haven’t had any issues with my nailer. I actually have the older brad nailer as well and got it back in 2015 or 2016 (can’t remember). It still works great. I’ve had the newer version for 3 ish years now and use it quite often and it’s still working great. I’d definitely contact Ryobi because they have a great replacement/warranty program.

Unless you plan to continuously spray the vanity itself with water, then yes. The water (under normal circumstances) should stay contained to the countertop and sink.
