My bro. You are an extraordinary player and teacher as well. I've been playing close to 40 years now and have learned several insights from you in the past 8 years since I began following you. Haters can go pound sand. People who tend to over criticize usually don't like themselves very much so instead of going inward to work on themselves they lash out on others instead. Keep shredding my bro!! 😊

Do net let your voice go unheard. Your advice might not be ideal or applicable for everyone, but for those that can benefit from your experience it is very valuable. So please, keep sharing and keep playing! 🎸

There's so much hate nowdays, all over internet. In your UG times guitar lessons, guitar playing was so much fun... But now looks like there's two teams fighting for universal truth. I glad to see you again, with tons of lessons and advices. Now I'm not a kid anymore, time goes on without mercy... but you always be one of my first guitar teachers to me Kris... I represent Dahl's dojo!! Hahah

I think the UG mods filtered out the hate comments 😅

I always used to do things with stretching my hand. Got pretty severe carpale tunnel syndrome. So turned my guitar technique all the way over, started ''from scratch'' with that relaxed hand posture, never regretted it. I don't even want to do stretch things no more. Carpale tunnel syndrome is basically away and I don't get numb hands no more. But also changed my job, so not sure whether it's all due to the new hand posture

Same here, I try to avoid stretching and rarely practice anything very stretchy

Well, I'm kinda relieved. I was just wondering if my predominant 'lead' left hand position was 'right' or not (clearly, I think too much). Turns out that I naturally developed a technique similar to yours, when I was a teen, almost 50 years ago. Most of your vibrato, and mine, clearly comes from the wrist, not the rest of the arm - you can see it right on your video. Sure there's some arm motion, but it's mostly the wrist. And, of course you are right - you must be flexible, and able to flow from one hand posture to another to optimize the biomechanics for efficiency and efficacy..

@KristoferDahl, which specific video of yours are you referring to that got all the hate? You have me really curious to watch it.
So what, it doesn't mean anything....I have a small following of what I call " my five or six loyal viewers " ( 508 subscribers ) and what I think or feel are my best videos are always the ones that get the fewest likes and harshest criticism. As long as someone is getting something out of it, it's good work I say. Often times it's just knee jerk reactions. If criticism is thoughtful and not mean spirited, it's useful.

There's no muscles in your fingers, your fingers are controlled by the muscle group in your forearm. Your fingers contain only tendons. the 'control' and movement you're describing (very well and thank you) has nothing to do with muscles as finger muscles don't exist.
