thank you, after 90mins of my life wasted with command line parameters that did absolutely nothing, i finally saw that Button to get into thescreen recording options and set everything up. ShareX really should have placed it in the middle or down :D with dark theme absolutely black, it was hidding from my eyes like a Ninja Turtle :D i switched to a more light blue dark theme and yeah, NOW i can see it too. With Dark Theme Black, there is no color difference between the background and the button, and now i need to write an official complain letter to the ShareX CEO ^^

I can get smooth videos for selected screen regions but choppy stuttering on 4k fullscreen. Any idea which parameter I could change?

best would be use hardware acceleration (e.g. NVENC for NVidia, QSV for Intel, AMF for AMD). Did you set checkbox "Record using lossless encoding..." in Task settings as shown on 00:57 ??

I set it to Webm and 20,000 bit rate for like a 14 second it gave me a 1.72 gb (not mb) file size

check your hotkey settings and change it, you might be pressing the hotkeys for gif recording instead of mp4

Still have laggy video (around 15 FPS), using NVENC settings. This is only an issue with ShareX, other recording software works just fine.

Try giving shareX more process priority. This guide is to achieve the best recording quality whilst maintaining small file sizes, if you're having problems with stutters and such then you might have to explore elsewhere 😊
