Liron, I'm familiar with Sharis' work, her online classes which is what got me interested in urban sketching. She is an amazing landscape painter and her citiscapes are super. Thanks for reviewing her work.

I liked her paintings more and more as you kept showing them. Oh, if you are out on a sunny Winter day, the contrasts between the bright snow on the ground and the shadows can be quite dazzling.

I really love Shari's work. It has a very familiar feeling for me because she is one of my countrywomen. The subject matter in most of the paintings are favourites of mine because I recognize a lot of them. Her style is very similar to the way I like to paint; sort of realistic and impressionistic at the same time (or back and forth). I just wish I were as good at it as she is. I grew up surrounded by lots of white, white snow and brilliant sunlight (Welcome to North America!). So, thanks, Liron, for reviewing her art. It was great!

Liron, I appreciate the way you get right to the heart of what makes these pictures _work_. Your enthusiasm is so sincere, and always in a positive spirit! :^) As it happens, many of the winter scenes were painted within a kilometre or two of where I live on the Island of Montreal. You speculate that the contrast of the snowy tree scene might possibly be slightly exaggerated. Nope; in fact the shadows could be _darker_ than that! (compared to the bright snow.) It would be hard to exaggerate the contrast of a sunny winter day, because snow is so white that light bounces off with almost no loss from absorption. (That's why indigenous peoples in the north - called the Inuit, in Canada - used to wear eye-shades with narrow slits to see through, to protect against 'snow-blindness'.)

Most of us who live here are quite attached to this island region. We have access to a big city, but also to less developed 'villages', forests, streams and a mighty river's lakeshore. It _is_ a warm feeling, seeing familiar scenes thru the eyes of a really talented painter! In fact, I'm going to send Shari's site link to a couple of people who've moved away from Montreal - they'll love remembering these landscapes. Keep feeding us with your enthusiasm and positive vibes, Liron!

Whoa lovely artist! Amazing style - I love urban sketching and struggle with nailing distinctive brush marks and values on one go. The linework is so subtle, love that she manages to make such sharp marks without relying on the ink. Do you think she uses a flat brush? The shapes on the canyon painting are unreal 😮 I'm really gonna learn a lot from analyzing her art, especially color choices. Thanks! (also, that 'poppy' pun 'popped' outta nowhere 😂 )

So happy to hear this helps (: And yes - she has great skills that make it look simple and easy, while actually being quite a challenge. I think she may use a flat brush. I see many urbane sketchers do that.

Hi Liron, Would you please do a video on Milind Mullick Paintings. He is an expert. Please check out his work on internet, I am sure you also like it. I want to understand what style of painting he does and how similar or different is his work from Nitin singh or Shari? Thanks!

Not Grand Canyon..it’s Arches in Utah..and Bryce Canyon. I live in Utah, lots of subjects for painting. We had a sunset the other night you’d never even believe if it was accurately painted..the alpine canyons with the creeks, deserts, red rock country, it’s a lot..

Montreal. I'd say 2/3 of the paintings are from around here; the rest are from her travels. Those water & dock scenes are mostly on the St. Lawrence River. Though I don't recognize the one where houses are staggered up a hill behind a dock - that _could_ be somewhere in the maritimes or NL.
