Ah ah!😄 I agree with you, Liron. I know your favourite painters, but I don't like painting urban landscapes. I love nature, country landscapes, flowers, animals. Nothing uman now. And I love stronger colour! The things that I love most in your style and in Castagnet and Zbukvic are composition and depht, strong contrasts. I try to do this with my favourite subjects.

What a fantastic message! It's so easy to get down on yourself as an artist when you see these masters at work. So thank you for reminding us that each of us is an artist in progress. And by the way, your list is spot on. I would add Herman Pekel and Dan Marshall.

Liron, this video is won-der-ful for so many reasons!! You show and succinctly describe the eye candy of the artists’ works and then. . . you end with a message that empowers us to love and respect ourselves and our own courage to enter this difficult, challenging and beautiful arena of watercolors. I have watched many, many videos, but with yours I can count on sound information, enthusiasm, humor, honesty, all delivered with respect for your viewer. Thank you for your hard work in making these videos available to us. Okay okay, enough with the kudos, even though they are all TRUE!! Simply put, you are a talented artist and gifted teacher!! Now I gotta go paint. . . 👍🤙

I've probably watched hundreds of watercolor tutorials-- and I love yours because it stretches my botanical style. But your advice to be kind to myself as much as others was the best watercolor tip I ever received. I am such a perfectionist doing realistic art that I found you to loosen up. I also took up urban sketching and plein air painting with your inspiration. Thank you!

I know this couple too and follow their work the first ones! I love love how they they choose soft then focus in in certain areas, very talented artists!! I also enjoy watching Gary Tucker's journey I believe is his name. I do the same with my works I enjoy going back to a painting after my first sitting, the first view of something I feel you take in the main areas of interest but when you come back to a scene the initial wow I wanna paint this is gone and that allows you to take in other details of interest that you may not have noticed taking it all in the first time. I feel it gives me another perspective of my same subject. Alvarez's I may have spelled wrong but I enjoy the simplicity of shape and use of color and do see his influence to your work which I always enjoy. I greatly enjoyed this video my xoxo hope you are well and congrats on gallery entrance piece I saw on Instagram I think xo

Hi Liron, very nice video! Those artists are very popular now on social media and with their APV videos. I have been painting watercolors for quite some time and after a few years I started looking for something more than the Australian school of watercolor (Zbukvic, Castagnet, Pekel, Hyatt...) and I would like to share with you some of the masters who are currently rocking the scene but don't have such a social media exposure: Dusan Djukaric - Serbia Marc Folly - France Ping Long - China Lars Lerin - Sweden Arthur Melville - Scotland (deceased) Eugen Chisnicean - Moldova Hope I got you inspired a little bit, have a nice day!

Yeah, you are right...at the end its the same what Joesph Zbukvic said, dont copy me , create your own work, with that said: Lets go ahead ! A propos: I decided to reinstall me in Greece, after my summer in the Baltics, friend of mine invited me to live with her in Naxos....and I asked myself what trace I am following as artist: Its definetly the LIGHT, these long mystical WHITE summerninghts at the Baltic sea and these Blues, Whites and deep shadows produced by the hard greek sunlight...on marvelous architecture.... thank you again...your input is very worthful.

"8:43" -- That got a big chuckle out of me! 😀 Yeah, as long as it is a healthy confidence & not arrogance, then that is a good mindset to have. If we are to get really technical, though, the #1 is definitely the Creator of the Universe! But, yes, you are right, He did say, "Do unto others as you would have them do to you." And, yes, you are right that there are people who are at times kinder to others than they are to themselves, albeit, eventually, sooner or later, animosity gets directed at the other, too. Interesting choices!

Many years ago I sat on a panel of Architects in Chelsea London. Each member of the panel was asked to select two architectural works for an exhibition of local architect's work. Naturally, I selected myself. I was a young graduate setting out in the world. My selections were not accepted as the rest of the selection committee thought me arrogant and egotistic. That was many years ago and the world has changed much since. Art and Architecture has become far too technical with all manner of committees and focus groups having their heads planted firmly up their arse. The joy of Art and Architecture has become lost, except for those wonderful souls who manage to break on through to the other side (Thanks Doors). Like Liron, I was not being conceited, I was just high on life and what I could do. After all, if I did not believe in my ability then I was not worthy of a commission. Thank you Liron for a wonderful video. I cannot place any of the five Artists into a listing according to ability as each one has their own vision through their eyes and composition. I love Alvaro's work for the insane use of red. How he makes his colour selection work is wonderful to behold and he does it time after time. All of the featured artists are wonderful; along with everyone who picks up a brush. Remember, as soon as one puts anything down on paper, be prepared to get critically hammered whether you are good or bad, it makes no difference.

Beautiful video! Angela Fehr always stresses this idea. She encourages her students by teaching "How to become your own favourite artist". A fantastic message. You have to learn to love your own work and express your vision, or there's not much point in continuing (I still struggle with this, by the way, but that's what we all must strive for). Thank you for the words of encouragement, Liron!

You were talking about the opening artists, how one has more detail and sharpness and the others flowed more? In Chinese landscape painting they speak of ‘having brush’ or ‘having ink.’ Having brush is painting the details and whatnot. Having ink is having skill in the washes, etc.
