This entire podcast made me sob. I graduated with Malorie and we were always friendly with each other since middle school (side note: I have never forgotten the flavored oxygen bar at her bat mitzvah). Her and I shared an almost identical experience, and I had no idea. The benzos prescribed young leading to abusing them, the weed, heavy drinking til blacking out, assault, and the same self fulfilling prophecies bullied on to us by others. It’s so devastating and pains me to know that she was suffering with what I thought was were unique experiences, and we both carry them with us today. Malorie-you have always been a genuine, kind, sweet soul and I’m so happy to see that hasn’t left you despite what life has thrown at you. I so appreciate and respect you for telling your story. I wish nothing but strength and the best for you. You deserve it. 🩷

Probing a sibling's past can often be a unique opportunity for self-discovery. You were there (often in the same household) but then you weren't. The trust and sisterhood are genuine. Thank you two for sharing.

I don’t think you know how helpful this is. Even if you are still currently using secretly, you’re honestly is soooo helpful for me because I am…. I can’t even admit it. But this really helps. Idk Thank you. It’s like I see myself sooo much, and I can’t help but feel deep love, respect and care for you! a feeling I don’t naturally have for myself.
