Will you address why you have gone down the piebald/ double dapple route when choosing your second pup? In a previous video you mention being aware of the health issues these coloured dachshunds have yet you have decided to purchase one, from a more than likely, unethical breeder. Did you make the decision purely to obtain a desirable colour? There is a reason these colours aren't recognised by the KC and why ethical breeders would never breed in this way.

An ethical breeder doesn't advertise dogs online , do things at such speed, not do a home check, etc etc. Clearly a backyard breeder, and awful that Lydia has close to a million followers and hasn't used her platform for good - quelle surprise

@@adinadade8167 I merely asked if she would address it as its a topic she has raised in the past and I was surprised the route she had taken given the research she did with porter. She also has a large influence on people so it could drive demand for unethically bred pups. I am of course pleased the dog has a lovely home but sadly breeding dogs has become a business for many people which has driven poor standards.

Exactly she knows the associated health conditions but still went for a blue pied bald. Encouraging breeders to breed more of these poor dogs who more often than not end up with health conditions related to their colour 😡

Rare colour Dachshunds such as Isabella Piebalds are found through irresponsible breeding (whether or not they are bred in a home environment), as they are selectively bred for their looks, with no thought to their health and welfare. This breed is highly prone to alopecia, infection, skin cancer, congenital deafness and eye sight issues. As a dog owner my self ultimately I would want to own a dog that had a greater chance of living a long and healthy life, rather than prioritising owning a dog with a rare colouring. Please do your research if you are influenced to buy a Isabella Piebald Dachshund after seeing this video.

When we got our 2nd dog, the first one potty trained her because the first would go to the door to go outside the the second, would follow. Getting a 2nd one is easier. Than they have a play mate and companion. It’s great congrats.

What a cutie pie! With three dogs at our house I learned something I thought I would pass on. Its important to give Porter attention 1st and any other situation him 1st. It shows hierachy within the dog family. I didnt know about this when our third dog was added and because she was young and full of vigor she was always getting attention 1st. This lead to her thinking she was the alpha and then she started turning on the other two dogs. Long story short, it was my actions and reactions that were causing the issue. Just some advice...Porter 1st will show B where he stands in the family order. Congrats on the new family member!

I agree with you, I have two cats and we got a basset hound, we made sure the cats understood they come first, I wouldn't forgive me if they leave. Cats know they come first and the dog respect them pretty much. Good advice Tracy. ☺️

It's amazing how much a dog can change your life for the better ! We got our boy only 2 months ago it was one of the best decisions my husband and I have made. The first night our pup, he did a Little bit of crying. And my hubby started crying because he was so worried about the puppy having anxiety about being left alone for the night Also, I'm so happy you took our advice to heart about the rawhide rings. ❤️

Running the risk of sounding like a repetitive animal rights militant now but I really think you’ve missed a trick not considering rescuing your next pup. You guys have proved yourselves such caring, wondering dog parents and you’d make a little rescue so happy. There are lots of Dachshunds in need at the moment and you could really use your platform to advocate for re-homing. The bond you have with rescues is unlike no other. Congratulations on Barkley, he’s beautiful. I just hurts my heart a bit that influencers keep lining the pockets of breeders when so many are in shelters

as wonderful as lydia and ali are, they are not animal lovers. they love their pets, and that is it. i expect *nothing* from them in the light of actually being conscious about animals and how they go about introducing them into their home as pets. i gave up making comments like this years ago--it goes no where! for what it's worth, you're right, and i completely agree.

Speaking from rescuing dogs and owning puppies: rescue dogs are a huge amount of work and aren't for people with busy lifestyles (in my experience). They can be the best dogs ever but in a lot of cases you have to put in a lot of work to get there as most have behavioural issues and they're older.

She rescued something else and it wasn't for her and had to go back.. In all honesty she's a great owner to her new pooch and cat but still she's not overly good with animals. If you noticed in the other days vid she mentioned porter was digging through a blank to sofa, I don't think he was digging to sofa just digging to get comfy like most knowledgeable animal owners would know. In all honesty not rescuing animals is a better idea for people who aren't 100% confident. And I think that is Lydia, getting a dog from a breeder and not rescuing is more sensible and always comes with the back up that it can go back if it doesn't work out, in all fairness Lydia has done good research and found a good breed which suits her family.

The reason puppy farms exist is because people continue to buy them. The reasons Isabellas sell for a much higher price than normal colours is because they are rare and people want them as a fashion symbol. People breed these dogs deliberately BECAUSE people like it and will pay over the odds. They're not saving anyone - they've probably just influenced rogue puppy breeders to breed even more!

We have public footpaths here in the U.K. which allow the public access, they crisscross the whole of the country for miles and miles throughout countryside, woodland and also includes many public costal footpaths so we don’t have to ask permission but are expected to be respectful to any farm animals or nature 😁

I fought my husband and son for years over NOT GETTING A DOG-then one day I found myself in a car on my way to pick up my sweet girl GiGi Boo (black mini poodle). The following year we went on holiday and missed her so much - we got another dog🤦🏽‍♀️. Sir Barkley J. Chewbacca. (Apricot mini poodle). In a blink of an eye I went from NO DOGS. To my two loves. Since you are as you quote "top 30 Times Influencer" maybe remember that you are 'influencing' people with your actions. That dog does not look like an ethical breed and just sharing is promoting terrible breeding. It is highly likely that dog will have serious health issues and whilst you may be able to afford to help it, you are promoting the practice and people who are less fortunate than you will not be able to keep up with the vet bills. Plus it's horrible for the dog whilst a breeder with no care takes the money. For once use your 'influencing' for good rather to promote fast fashion, designer dogs and a environmental damaging life style!
