So interesting fact about Inca Kola, we Peruvians love it so much that when Coca Cola tried to enter the market here it wasn't able to oversell it so they ended up buying it (why is featured in the Atlanta Coca Cola museum and over at Epcot's Club Soda among the sodas they own around the world).

Enjoying your Peru videos. Wondering if you had any untoward expenses with petty thiefs etc. Which Sim card would you recommend?
@SharingtheRoad Жыл бұрын
Hi! We never had any theft while in Peru, and felt safe most places we went. Cusco never felt too overly crowded, so we felt we were able to keep a good watch on our bags and such. I do use a hanging wallet/passport holder that attaches to my belt loop (so I can wear it inside my pants like an extra inner pocket). This gives me peace of mind knowing that my important docs are well protected. For a SIM card, we used Google Fi, which is a U.S phone plan that allows you to cancel at anytime, and only pay for the data you use. Since we were only going for 2 weeks, we felt it was a good option. I'm sure if you picked up a local SIM card, you could get it cheaper. We've also heard nice things about Airlo Esim cards, where you can buy ESIM cards (data only, no cell/texting) online, but we haven't actually used them yet. When are you going?! You're going to have such an amazing trip! :)

- except for the food in the back, the San Pedro market is almost exclusively a tourist spot. Locals shop in the surrounding Paraiso area. That is where you should have gone to see real Cusco markets. - The stones along the stream running down bsides Sacsayhuaman are about 2-2 1/2 years old. The reconstruction was done during the pandemic. I watched them doing it for months. - Inca Cola is available in lots of places in the US. It a Coca Cola Bottling Co. product. - the 12-angle stone is promoted solely for tourism along the street. There are lots of stones in the area with more angles, but they don't sit in front of souvenir shops. (By the way, some of the "Inca" walls you showed are actually modern facades.)
@michelleglennon3484 Жыл бұрын
Inca Kola is all over the US in all peruvian restaurants. I've been drinking it since the 4th grade, here in New York. Best friend is from Peru. I believe it might be made by the coca cola company? anyway, it's good. tastes and smells like bubble gum.
@sikusuyu Жыл бұрын
It's owned by coca cola now. Before it was on its own. Many Peruvians tell me that coca cola changed it's flavor after buying it because it was afraid that it would beat coca cola in the future so they toned down the flavoring

The megalithic is prior to Inca. Hints how the stone work gets worse on top. They didn’t do that in 150 years

What did you do to handle altitude sickness ??
@SharingtheRoad9 ай бұрын
Hi! We drank lots of water, and chewed on some coco leaf candy some fellow travelers gave us. We didn't encounter too bad of symptoms, mainly just feeling more winded than normal after climbing stairs, slight headache, and things like that. Luckily, Cusco is a higher elevation that Machu Picchu, so if you give your body a day or two to get acclimated in Cusco, if/when you go to Machu Picchu, you should be well acclimated! We hope you have a great trip!

In my opinion, both the Inca Kola and the Peru CocaCoal don't taste good or great. They're okay. The Coke in the US tastes better. For some reasons, Peruvians use a different ingredient.
