Just bought one of these today and i will say it works very well. I bought it on sale at $330 from best but and its MSRP is 450. I believe at this price poihnt you should definitely get wifi in an appliance. I have blueairs and other heaters/fans with wifi capabilities so i can have them set on a timer or on night mode and they come back on when needed and shark definitely should have done this. My only gripe really.

Are you doing a best air purifier for 2024 video? I just picked up an HC-502 and would be interested in seeing how it compares to the best. I liked your review of the unit and so far am very impressed by its performance and versatility.

I notice a lot of heating devices reduce air quality, but the heating appears to have not been tested here. Forced air + heat is often a bad combo since it separates water molecules from dust particles and breaks them down to a finer form, along with oil and material breakoffs from the insides which comes from non air based heaters too. With the surrounding thermal and kinetic energy making them airborne for longer, Since I have hypersensitive lungs I'm looking at this one and the Dyson for safer heating options, can you do tests on heaters that also have air purification? Also i've learned an insane amount of information regarding air quality over a course of time and conducted alot of testing and trial and error in my own highly polluted apartment complex, excessive window residue from poorly installed windows, air drafts from kitchen vents sucking air in from outside and unclean venting systems, with having hypersensitive lungs i basically serve as a walking air quality detector so all the techniques i applied had to work perfectly or my health'd deteroriate immediately so i've learned tons about air quality and I think i could help construct an extremely detailed PSA about everything regarding air quality

@ModernCastle

I'm not 100% sure, but generally when you're talking single digit trailing model differences between Shark models the difference is color and/or attachments and/or retailer exclusivity (suffice to say...basically nothing).

Could you test the blueair healthprotect and dust magnet? They make a lot of claims on rhese units and there are zero proper reviews on the internet.😅

Would like to see the Shark HP301 NeverChange against the Standard HC452! I like the oscillating and WIFI feature but don't need the cool/heat or remote features. Can it be programmed to turn on daily for 30 minutes? Which has the better filter between Standard HC452 and HC502? Filter Cost? Can you use the better filter on the either? The price appears to be about the same, so not sure which is best for just air purifying.
@nyquil07na38
@nyquil07na38 Жыл бұрын
These are pretty good but pricey. The oscillation gets janky over time and the heater should be improved upon to heat up the room rather than just a 2 to 3 degree warmer.

I recently found out that the the dorm I am going to live in for my first year in college tends to have mold build up, no Air Conditioning, and is not very clean in general. Everyone always recommends an air purifier, but I am also looking to cool the space which is around 300 square feet, so I'm having trouble deciding on a product that either combines the purifying+cooling feature, or getting them separately. I looked at the Dyson ones, but my research showed that they are great for cooling, but don't purify the air too well. Would you recommend either of these Shark products from this video or something else?
@ModernCastle
@ModernCastle Жыл бұрын
I would actually say the opposite is true of Dyson...cooling is just fine (as it's just a fan, no active AC), while purification is excellent...but the whole thing is more expensive than many other options. All that said, I do think the Shark 3-in-1 is a much better overall option if you need the cooling performance. This feels like an obvious choice for your needs.

How does the Shark HC501 perform for heating a 300 square foot fully insulated he/she/kids shed?
@ModernCastle
@ModernCastle Жыл бұрын
We haven't tested that model, but I would guess performance is going to be similar to the model featured in this video. For just 300 sq. ft. I would think it would do a fine job if you put it in the middle of the room and keep it on high.

I purchased both of them and seems like the smaller one has more heat fan power than the Max. Is that normal for.a faulty item? The Max doesn’t seem as power full in fan speed when I put the heat option on and don’t really beat up my room as fast as the smaller unit. Any one else seen this issue ?
@ModernCastle

No, I don't think that's normal. The max definitely created more heat compared to the smaller one, in my experience.

My comment keeps getting deleted. I'm trying to say how interesting it would be to measure what air quality would be after making and testing the cheap DIY project of duck taping a box fan to a bunch of hepa filter screens into a square air purifier. Then compare the air quality and costs with the regular air purifiers that you've already reviewed. Could even try measuring different brands of hepa filter screens to see which one is most effective with the box fan trick.
@ModernCastle

Not sure why your comments are being deleted. This is the first I've seen the comment. In any case, I absolutely agree and that's something we plan on creating / testing later this year. I'm really interested to see if it actually works as well as it seemingly should.
