Shark AV911S EZ Robot Vacuum with Self-Empty Base - Review 👀

We have had our Shark EZ Robot vacuum for a month now. So far this thing is great, but it is still too early to give this vacuum a full endorsement.
If you have been wondering about this thing as much as we have then here, you go. Yeah, this is pretty cool. It will go back to the base to recharge and empty its dust bin. So far we are loving it.

Our “Rosie” just arrived yesterday and used it today, I’m amazed how well it worked. I was impressed that it went back to the dock and after charging picked up in the room where it left off! I’m going to love this Shark ez vacuum.

We now have Rosie for more than 45 days and we are thrilled with the job it does. It picks up the smallest amount of dirt and has been great with cat hair. We do vacuum out the filters every other day so it will remain unclogged. One con I have is that the app has had a number of issues. I've had to delete and reinstall more than 3 times already. I have been unable to see the history of the floors cleaned. LOVE MY ROSIE SHARK VACUUM

@@user-sk5bw6dp2f I haven't had any issues with the map but a few people have left similar comments. I just click on the 3 lines then I click on history after that I click on the date and it shows me the map.

Just bought this at Walmart, 01-12-24 it was $268.98. Set up took a bit, but it was easy, also connected it to Google Home, and connected it to my phone through the app. Named it WALLEY. If you set it up to Google, you can ask Google where is the Shark? And he will activate Whistle Mode and WALLEY will start to whistle a tune so you can find it. Then tell Google you Found the Shark and it stops it. WALLEY will finish the song first. So far so good 👍❤️

I ripped out all the carpet in our old house and put in wood floors. That was before I really new how to record a video. I had an old blackberry phone back then. I was just learning how to record stuff. This house has pretty nice floors. But it does have some old carpet upstairs. So I am eventually going to make a video about putting in wood floors.

Great video! I just got mine from Amazon Prime Day July 2023 for $250. In your video at 9:36 does the vacuum just stay stuck at the edge of the stair? I have mine set up just for my carpeted upstairs and don't want to get a boundary strip on the stair just so it avoids that area. I have an iRobot I got (on Prime Day as well) for just the downstairs and tested it upstairs and it was smart enough to detect it and avoid it. I haven't tried it w/ my Shark yet. I probably should it's right there LOL. But wanted to get your thoughts. Thanks!

Yeah the shark has cliff detection and it should be fine but if it gets too close to the stairs it can get stuck and will need some help. It seems to have a good memory too but if you move to from downstairs to upstairs that can confuse it a little because it will not map the upstairs as a separate map. I mainly use it downstairs because we live in the desert and we have tile and wood floors downstairs. Everything can get really gritty and dusty if we don't vacuum everyday.

Have you ever had problems with it attaching to the dock? Do you use boundary strips?

We have a lot of dust out here and we have to wipe the dust of of the sensors. Our base is also set up on a hard floor. So if you clean the sensors and still have some issues with the dock you could try to relocate it to a hardwood or tile floor if you have that option. I have not tried a boundary strip yet. We used to have a Neato vacuum and we had to use the boundary strip with that vacuum. I plan on making some more videos about our vacuum. I will keep testing it and if I need to get some boundary strips I will test them out too.

I haven't used a Wyze Robot Vac before. So I am not sure how it will compare. I used to have a Neto Robot Vacuum. The thing I really like about the Shark Robot Vac is the self emptying base. It was kind of a pain to empty my old robot vac everyday. Let me know how the Shark compares to the Wyze vac.

I just got this one and I’m curious if it maps out your house and if it allows you to clean by room through the app? I see others saying you can but mine isn’t giving me that option

This model will map out your house and show you were it cleaned but it does not let you choose a specific room to clean in the app. When it cleans it will clean the whole house. If you want to clean a specific room you will need to pick up the robot vac and put it in specific area and press the clean button.

@@ThatHobby As another person said, it will pick up where it left off but can not do a specific room. If the tray is full it will go back to the base and empty. My instructions said specifically not to pick up the vacuum and put it in a new spot. It will confuse the mapping memory created when you first set it up.

@@user-sk5bw6dp2f I think it is ok to do that after it has generated the map. We live in a two story hoses so we have no choice. That sounds like a good video idea. I will look it up and see what is that best way to spot clean.

We haven't tested it on cat litter yet. Our cat box is upstairs. But as well as it works on everything else it should work great on cat litter too.

@@theword9534 I don't know for sure every Walmart is different but they are usually pretty good about accepting returns. You may want to ask the customer service desk to make sure.

@@theword9534 I am not sure? I have not used the Walmart protection plan. I had an issue with a Shark product in the past and Shark sent me a new one. So Shark seems pretty good.

Does the cleaning map show up on your app after it cleans?

Yes it showed up under history then when you click on the day you should see a map of what was vacuumed

Hi. I received one for Christmas I set up it and I didn’t see the map on the app. Also I want to know if I can cleanse my first and 2do floor. Because what will happen when the vacuum need to come back to the station to dock

@@estefanypolanco3278 The map may not show up the 1st day. I think ours took a couple of days to show up. It will be under history and you will need to click on the date to see the map. When you vacuum upstairs you will need to put a magnetic strip or a barrier up to keep it from falling down the stairs. When it is done you will have to carry it down stairs and put it in front of the dock and hit the dock button. It can be a little tricky I will try to make some videos on how to vacuum up stairs.

They do say the Shark Robot Vacuums have a Cliff sensor and won't fall off the stairs. But I didn't know that so I will have to do some tests on the edge of the stairs to see how it does. They also say the robot vac can't map multiple levels. It can only map one level. So yeah you can vacuum upstairs too but it is just a little tricky.

I had some trouble with our robot vac over the holidays. It kept getting stuck on the Christmas tree. I put a box in front of the Christmas tree and the vac eventually figured it out. I didn't think of trying to create a new map. But I wonder if there is a factory reset. But that might not be necessary. You could contact Shark. They have a pretty good customer service.

Nice! Walmart has some good deals. The only issue I have had is that I forgot to clean the filter in the base. I kept getting an error but once I cleaned the filters it was fine. I made a video about the filters if you have any issues you can check it out.

That's a great deal. This vac is the AV911S. There are a few different versions at Walmart the RV915S is $249 and the RV910S is $298. I am not sure what the difference is? But the look like a great deal.

A gendered robot vacuum?

You can name your robot vacuum anything you want in the Shark app. But the Shark vacuum does have a female voice. I don't think you can change the voice like you can on other devices.
