Shark Fishing With the Penn Slammer 10500

First time running the new Penn slammer 10500, i spooled it with 120 pound line and sent a large gafftop out without the head or tail, it took about 30 minutes and the rod gets slammed. I only had about 50 yards of line on the reel when it hit so the fight was pretty epic all around. I honestly couldn't imagine a ten foot shark from the beach considering how hard that fish fought on spinning. next trip to the coast im going to be running two Penn slammer 10500's and looking to break the 8 foot mark by running big baits

Slammers, Saragosa, Spinfisher - all good choices for surf casting bait. For yakking, a bigger conventional with 1,000 yards has advantages. For example, 50 sized Avet EX or Makaira.

Another killer show! I like that short pumps technique you use. Good stand-up style. One thing about spinning reels is if you don't "pump and reel" and just crank the fish in, it twists your line bad. Mono that is. Nice Bull!
